Just a quick question on fantasy battles on how 3 player games would work.
For example combat 1 unit being charged by 2 separate enemies.

Thanks guys.

There is a battle royal scenerio in the BRB (in the fuff area). It has a multi-army fantasy battle. I dont have my book on me, but its combined phases.

It seems pretty straightforward since all attacks are now done in initiative order. The problems arise when you have one unit who beats the other two in combat deciding where to pursue. Attacks would still be decided by base contact, characters could make way to either combat. Or what happens when 2 units beat one unit but those 2 units aren't friendly or in base contact with each other? Who pursues? Do they end up fighting each other?

I should probably take the 5 minutes to read the BRB scenario >.>

Seems to be a problem for me as I've only got the little rulebook.

It generally doesn't work out well. Two usually gang up on one and remove him as a threat, then turn on each other. It's no fun at all being the one.

We will be trying to do objective missions, it won't be a kill all end all type of battle. Or if we were to play kill all missions, it'll be evened out by the terrain so you couldn't gang up on the 1 person.

Surely somebody must know how it works with multiple players in a single battle?

Yeah, there is a major difference between having multiple players and more then 2 sides on the battlefield.

a 3 way is a little tricky. Whoever is moving last can just be on the short end of the stick.

I understand that, I'm just wanting to know how the game mechanics would work

I've played a WHFB 3 way before, and it's quite easy. One player is the defensive player who set's up the scenery and bases his models around one piece of terrain (Playing Watchtower Scenario) and the other two choose sides of the board as normal and voila! There you have it, a 3 Player match.
I've also found that the defender get's smashed, so in the past I gave them an extra 250-750 points or set up a Storm of Magic scrolls and magic items. It worked quite well and comes for an interesting game (Yes I did get the idea from the Nov 2009 WD)
I tried many other different ways but found in the end that playing by the normal rules and that the Defender going first works the best. As for being charged by separate enemies, I saw that if you divide the attacks to each separate enemies (So if you have 4 A's, 2 go to one and 2 to the other regiments) are if your hero's declaring a Challenge, all 3 Characters roll at the same time which I found the easiest with the regiments.
