While Maelstrom's got their 20% off sale for foreigners, I'm looking at restarting my paint collection in preparation for DFG's female UAMC release. My current paints are a decade old at the youngest, so I'll be starting from scratch.

I plan to be painting 28mm scale infantry as a mix of Caucasians and Latin Americans, probably wearing MARPAT fatigues.

I suppose my first question would be this: what non-paint items (preferably available from Maelstrom) would I need? What paintbrushes should I get for painting infantry?

Field grey highlight 2 for our Cyote tan vests
Black green for our green in forest marpat
You would be best off buying the darker brown color from The army painter, these all work great for forest marpat.

Vallejo polyurethane primers are excellent. Equally as good in an airbrush or with brush.

those brushes, size 1 and smaller(2 if you need a big brush). Runs you a whopping $30AU for 5 brushes that are top of the line, and will last your lifetime if you maintain them well.

Thanks for the link, Aerethan. I'll pick up some of these as well. My wife has started painting on occasion, so it'll be good to have some extras.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

For the primer, should I go for the German Red Brown, on the basis that it would be the best base for human skin?

For skin tones, should I just pick trios of colours from this article?
