I had a battle this Monday with a friend at our local gaming store and it was a 1500 point battle, Necrons vs. Blood Angels, with some terrain, mostly ruined buildings and such towards the middle and that giant bastion that GW sells, which left a lot of space to outflank and such. Bear with me, as this is my first batrep So before I jump into the action here are the lists:

Action:
Pregame
We rolled to see who goes first and he won, but let me deploy first, although I was unsure why, as Blood Angels just want to get in close as fast as possible and give you a bad day. Then I rolled Mission Type, which was Capture and Control, and then he rolled deployment, which was pitched battle.
So I set up my guys as follows, left to right, two Anni Barges on the left, Ghost Ark, Triarch Stalker, Ghost Ark, CCB w/ Overlord, and then Night Scythe. He then deployed his guys as follows, left to right, Dev Squad in the bastion, First squad of Assault Guys, Second squad of assault guys on the far right, and the Dreads in reserve. He then rolled to steal the initiative and did not.

Turn 1:
I moved up a little bit, but no too close, and then popped the Solar Pulse. I couldn't shoot very much at all and actually didn't
He rolled and the Furioso Librarian Drop Podded in right behind my Ghost Ark and popped it right off of the bat, rolling a 6! Everyone else except the Dev Squad moved up. No one did any shooting.

Turn 2:
I moved the Anni Barges back from the assault squad and unleased tesla and gauss and did a whole lot of nothing. I think I killed one or two marines. 3+ armor and 4+ FNP is really brutal to play against. The Triarch Stalker fired into the assault squad by my popped ghost ark and and twin linked the squad, killing one marine. The resulting Tesla, Gauss, and CCB goodness dropped the squad to 2 marines and the Librarian and Priest.
His second Dread failed to come in, and the Dev Squad Fired on the second ghost ark doing nothing (Quantum Shielding FTW!). The Lib Dread wiped out the warrior squad (no suprises there), consolidating towards the Stalker, and the thinned squad wrecked the CCB with melta and the Overlord escaped just fine. His second assault squad moved in on the Anni Barges and blew up one, killing 2 marines.

Turn 3:
The remaining Ghost Ark moved up to get in range on the second squad and the enemy base. The Anni Barge moved a little bit, but not very far. At supersonic speeds, the Night Scythe zoomed to the objective, leaving behind the immortals. The Overlord moved in on the remnants of the Assault squad. Tesla Fire ripped into the marines, killing off one guy, WITH 18 TESLA SHOTS! That seems acceptable. Charging in with the Warscythe, the Overlord goes second lol, and the MSS did their job, killing off the remaining marines, leaving only the Librarian and Priest, who failed to wound the Overlord. Phase Shifters rule and are totally worth the points for keeping your Overlords alive. The other dread mishapped, being delayed for a turn. The other assault squad killed the second anni barge, and consolidated into my objective. The Dev Squad immobilized my Ghost Ark and the warriors inside piled out, away from danger.

Turn 4:
I rolled for the Warriors to run, getting a 5, and moved them up on the objective. No one else could shoot, so we moved to assault. The MSS worked again and it had the Librarian killing the Priest (woot!). The Librarian failed to wound the Overlord, and the Overlord killed the Librarian, consolidating towards the Immortals. The Night Scythe fired into the Dev Squad and killed 1.
The final Dread podded in by the immortals and fired in, killing two guys, who both reanimated, and the Dread killed two guys again in CC, and the Lord failed to hit. The Immortals failed their initiative test and fell back, however I did manage to roll a 6 for the sweeping advance, while my opponent only rolled a 1, so they fled, but stayed alive.

Turn 5:
The Warriors ran towards the objective again, but I only rolled a 1. I moved the Overlord towards to Dread, and no one shot as the Immortals ran off of the board. Assault combat resulted in the Overlord dying, but also, reanimating.
The remaining assault squad moved onto my base and the Dread moved into my immobilized Ghost Ark, blowing it up and consolidating towards my final warrior squad. The Lib Dread killed the Overlord and consolidated toward the Warrior squad.

My opponent rolled and the game went to turn 6.

Turn 6:
The Warriors and Cryptek rapid fired into the Dev Squad and killed all but 3 guys. The Night Scythe killed another guy, but not enough for me to win.
His Dreads moved up to my Warrior squad and he killed my final squad, winning him the game.

Endgame:
The game was close all throughout, but by turn 4 I was pretty sure the game was done. I was hoping to immobilize a Dread with the Annihilation barge, but that didn't happen unfortunately. I was also hoping the Overlord would kill the Dreadnought, but that also didn't happen as he died before assault the second time around. The only thing I would have changed is leaving a troop on my base. We both played a solid game and it always comes down to the dice. I hope you all enjoyed the batrep!

Before i read it, a) you guys decided to use FW? And you didn't include any necron gubbinz?....are there even any necron gubbinz?

and b) furioso dreads can't have powers. His second dread is either a libby with powers, or a regular one without

In turn 3, does your night scythe go flat out after the immortals disembark? Unless supersonic has a special rule allowing it (and it may, I don't have the codex or the WD with me) then you can't go flat out after you disembark a unit....right? Or is that only if you embark a unit?

And its a bummer your overlord didn't get back up for a second crack at that dread, that would of helped.

Great first battle report mate, keep it up

Well we didn't decide that FW stuff was alright; we are pretty liberal when it come to proxying units. I had no idea until the beginning that they were FW and not tourney legal(his words) and I don't know the BA codex very well because I'm rather new

I think its good that you play with FW stuff. No, I think its great. Too many people get hung up on the fact its new and different.

Personally, I think those 9 warriors in the ark may be a bit overstaffed. What is their real job? If you dropped 4 off each, you could have a large-ish squad which gets held in reserve to come on board later and claim objectives. Alternatively, it could be used on a unit of wraiths for counterattacking as well, hide them out of LOS until they can jump on some poor unsuspecting sod. Just a thought, because to me those warriors seem to be there for A) the transports and B) to pad some wounds onto the cryptek

True, I guess I always count on the ark getting damaged in some way, which happens and I have 5 Warriors and Cryptek which are really easy to kill as the S8 weapon is generally a fire magnet, plus I love running Arks straight into enemy lines and getting 20-40 shots off with the unit when I'm in rapid fire range.

As far as thinning them for extra units, I could nab a 6 Immortals, 8 warriors, or 3 wraiths for camping on my objective. I like the idea of leaving Wraiths on my home objective, but they are so much better for mulching infantry at large.

I didn't mean leave the wraiths on your home objective, they can't hold it after all. I meant hide them behind an ark while it advances and then pounce or something.

I would ask why you popped solar pulse on your turn, it only lasts for one player turn, and thus didn't hamper him at all, but messed up your shooting.

That is my mistake. We played it as one whole turn, so it messed up his shooting too. Now I know. Thanks.

Yeah great work, maybe you should have brought a charger for your camera, as that would have made it better, as I'm always eager to see a Cron Army. great job, it was a great batrep, very entertaining.

Haha, you would have enjoyed the proxies. Two Destroyers as the Anni Barges, a burnt out Landraider as the Night Scythe, and last but not least, The Swarmlord as a Triarch Stalker, as mine is still on the sprue. Damn you Skyrim!

As another aside, as per IA Apoc 2nd edition Blood Angels *cannot* take Lucius DP

Yeah, now that I'm reading the IA 2nd, only Codex SM, Space Wolves, Black Templar, and Dark Angels can take them in non apoc games.

This says that BA can take them, unless it is outdated. It still takes up a fast attack slot IIRC.

Furioso Dreadnought w/ Blood Talon w/ Melta, Blood Talon w/ Storm Bolter, Magna Grapple (Lucius Assault Pod) Powers: Shield and Blood Lance.
That just doesn't work, its either a normal furioso that can take 2 blood talons but has no powers, or a librarian furioso that can take 1 but has powers

Outdated. The most current rules are those in IA Apoc 2nd edition.
