Road-Raging Blood Angel Biker

I wonder what the chanting of the word bearers sounds like when theyre marching / fightihg in battle. Like all in sync with each other, and what theyre chanting. Is it like what monks sound like? Or is it just like random incoherent stupid frothing babbling? I cant imagine a urban enviornment warfare with them, itd be terrifying as a pdf trooper or guardsmen. Would a guardsmen ever even be able to kill a csm with his las rifle and bayonette? Or are the chnces very unlikely?
(Btw goofy i know but i had a nightmare after reading the blood angels omnibus about the word bearers except it was different than the book. I was a guardsmen i think. Because i had the armor of one of em and a rifle with bayo on it. My squad was setting up and ambush from a couple of houses in a dense city battered and burning. Anyhow here they came by chanting random passes of something daemonic sounding and before we could ever ambush them one of the csm's without a helmet looked me straight in the eye at my cold position and then they started chanting ever so calmly even louder. And started assaulting our pos. All i could do was yell aloud in absolute terror at the sheer strength and chaotic nature of them in my dream and continuously squeeze the trigger on my rifle) lol

An ominous chant in mangled gothic mixed with the dark languages of chaos, with the names of gods forbidden to speak of mixed in for good measure. Bellicose roars for emphasis.
|
I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.
'She sat on the corner, gulping the soup down, uncaring of the heat of it. They had grown more watery as of late she noted, but she wasn't about to beggar food from the Imperials or the "Bearers of the Word." Tau, despite their faults at least didn't have a kill policy for her race.' |

Word Bearers are terrifying, I'd imagine they'd carry some sort of warp energy about them which would cause guardsmen to have moderate-severe headaches and nosebleeds. The sounds would be sickening to the point of potentially inducing vomiting in those who are not properly prepared. In "First and Only", Gaunt and two guardsmen killed two CSM. One of the guardsmen got chain-fisted and one of the CSM had a chainsword pushed through his chest, after he did not die from this, he was beheaded. (Killing the CSM was a laborious process, it took a very long time for the chainsword to penetrate its armor)

Well, even the Word Bearers Space Marines have common sense and would be wearing their helmets.
You wouldn't hear anything more than likely. Too busy using vox for more important things I would imagine.

It would probably just be really easy to kill them.
If they're running around chanting all the time, that means you'll always know when they're coming and from where. Good tactical advantage. I'd rather fight Word Bearers than the Night Lords.

Yeah, but Night Lords won't summon daemons. Word Bearers are more than happy to summon as many daemons as they can and warp the crap out of the planet.

Meh. If they fight anything like the WB serie portrays, then they should be really easy to kill.
Marines need specialisation if they want to fight a conventional engagement across large lines. WB doesn't have such a specialisation. Only the goddamn plot-armour could justify them winning over an Imperial Guard & Mechanicus onslaught that lasted days.

They could probably just as easily use you as a daemonic host as they could kill you.
If they don't kill you they might drag you off world and take you back to Sicarus as one of their many slaves.

The Word Bearers also have a large cultist contingent, so you'd have to deal with them too.

That's not how any space marines legion/chapter fights. What universe are you thinking of? 40k is sci-fi WWI. Word Bearers battle plan: Summon lots of demons and throw them at enemies. Advance.
