so. I have been slowly adding to my space marines because i'm looking for a change from my orks and eldar for a bit. so far I have mostly gotten blood angels models and a few other models that I like (thunderwolf calvery for example cause the models look killer and i'm looking forward to painting them)

here's the questiong though... I don't really liek the look of assault marines but I do like sang guard models. since they have a bolt gun a close combat weapon and jet pack would you accept sang guard as assault marines? or would it not count as wysiwyg becasue they aren't chain swords? and if i modded them to have chainswords woudld they no logner work as sang guard?

If it wouldn't be seen as acceptable for tournament play or would I be better off buying sang guard jump pack bits on ebay and using them instead of assault marine jumpt packs? and if is did that would that make them legitimate for wysiwyg as its just a different looking jump pack

The second option would work better because the armor that sanguinary guard wear is artificer armor not normal power armor. If you just use the jump pack bits with normal assault marines it would be less confusing an much more likely to be accepted. You may also want to look into some of the armor variants that are out there other than the standard space marine power armor.

possible. the thing to me is the sang guard look sleeker like i feel a jump pack troop should look, the power armor normal just looks to big and bulky to jet around with

I know forgeworld makes allot of different space marine armors so you may want to look at some of their variants to see if any catch your eye.

I don't think the armour is a problem. Most people would use it on normal Assault Marines. The Angelus Boltgun would pass as a pistol for me but I'm not sure about the power weapon. You could use chainswords from the Death Company.

I mix the SG parts with DC and assault marine parts. If I use a "power weapon" as a CCW I simply paint it silver, but chainswords simplify things.
There is no issue with using the arms legs torsos and non mask haeds of the SG kit. Obviously shy away from the masks.

well I bought 15 chain swords on ebay. I'll be modding them to e able to use both the power weapon or the chainsword with a little bit of blue tack

I decided to keep the death masks though as I think they can be decorative breather masks to handle the high altitude.... guess the ork player in me is just used to having to improvise for bits and models not made for my codex... or in some case like rokkit buggies for terrible looking models and making something acceptable (like i'm trying here with terrible looking assault marines... they are so blocky
