Nocturnes Hammer 90 points

Nocturne's Hammer is the oldest known Rhino in existence. It belongs to the Salamanders Chapter, and was supposedly used to transport Vulkan himself into battle on many occasions. Such is its holiness that Nocturne's Hammer is granted its own Techpriest, and always the most experienced crew available. Although accounts of its actions are rare, it is known to have taken part in the Siege of Devlin's Fastness. (s. lexicarium)

Reverence To the Omnissiah-
Nocturnes Hammer always is accompanied by a tech-marine with a servo-harness. (who does not take up any additional space inside the vehicle as while not attempting repairs)

Ancient and Dependable-
So Ancient is Nocturnes Hammer that only the Tech-marine assigned to Nocturnes Hammer can attempt to repair it. Should the Tech-marine that accompanies Nocturnes Hammer attempt a repair +1 is always added to the roll. In addition if Nocturnes Hammer suffers a "Wrecked" result on the Vehicle damage table, one attempt can be made to repair it on a roll of a '6'.

The Steed Of Legends-
Nocturnes Hammer can be taken as a transport only for Vulkan He'Stan, in addition It may transport 5 Models in Terminator Armour (in addition to Vulkan He'Stan) or 10 models in Power Armour (in addition to Vulkan He'Stan)

Sounds like a Rhino with the Venerable rule would be fine for this, no reason why being particularly old would allow it to carry Terminators.

It carried around Vulkan the Primarch. not just vulkan the special character. so I think It would have more room inside. or at least bigger doors.

Um - why would it only be able to carry Vulkan He'Stan? He'Stan is just one Captain in the Salamanders legion - surely if He'Stan can take it, then any of the other Captains could take it? Not to mention their Chapter Master....

I know it seems counter intuitive at first, but Vulkan He'Stan is carrying around all of Vulkan's other relics (except for the orbital space station). Thought it was fitting that the forge father was the only one to have access to such an old relic. after all It is about 10,000 years old.

He's not even a Captain.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Just for the book, Nocturnes Hammer is a real rhino within the fluff. I am just putting rules to it.

Just in case that was not clear

I think this is a strange way of laying out rhino rules.

Personally, if I were to ctreate rules for vulkans personal Rhinno it would have Armour 12 instead of 11 on the front and sides and would have a 5+ invun against shooting attacks. Maybe the venerable rule too. But it would still be a rhino in the case of terminators and transport capacity.

I like that actually! but I also like the idea of the crew being replaced by a Tech Marine.

40k is a world where older = better. A rhino being particularly old can be the reason why its equipped with hovering engines and a large refractor field generator.

I'm surprised there are no super flamers on it though. Instead of a stormbolter, I'd be expecting it to have a special redeemer cannon because of the whole, salamander association.

Sounds legit, but who would spend points on a Special Rhino which is still, well a rhino and can be one-shotted with most Anti armor weapons like Meltas?

Maybe allow it to have a pintle mounter heavy flamer rather than the storm bolter then? Might be a little more fluffy. Or maybe a hull mounted flamer. Any more than that and you are wandering into Predator territory.
