It has taken me quite some time to get my Necrons sorted. I got Necron models again back in November last year (Necrons were my first 40k army 5 years ago), I got the models quickly, but it's taken me quite a bit to get them done. I guess the biggest reason is because I've gone back over the models and done the glow effect (which is my first time trying) and highlighting. Of course, my list has also changed, originally it had Canoptek Scarabs and Spyders and also Triarch Stalkers, but the list has now changed, slightly and for the better.

So without further delay, here's my 'Glowcrons'.

Looking good. Always nice to see a fully painted army. I particularly like the different colourations. Tesla and Gauss?

Well I've had a thought on mine and not sure if I could take my Necrons. Reason is those are Puppetwar Wraiths, and I am not sure if G.W would like another model companies products being shown at one of their events, when they are trying to sell their gear.

No I doubt they'd like that at their flagship show mate to be honest

The reason I mentioned the Games day thing was because your piece reminded me of the Armies on Parade display (one army, fully painted on 2x2 display board).

Yeah, I getcha. I tend to always take picsof my fully completed armies on my RoB board, just looks sooo much better

The models look great, especially the infantry. I will say, however, that I'm not really getting the OSL effect on the vehicles and the Wraiths, more specifically, the OSL effect coming from the recessed lines. To me, it just looks like a bunch of airbrush overspray, as light coming up from a recessed panel line wouldn't cast light like that. The effect you're trying to imitate there would come from a light source above the panel lines.

You did an awesome job with the OSL from the weapons, which has me puzzled as to why the rest of the OSL just looks sloppy. Other than that, though, you really did a great job on these!

Thanks for the comment. I'll keep that in mind and maybe look at real life light souces in the same setup to get a idea.

I think perhaps on the vehicles it's a bigger area and flat surface? I don't know, that's my excuse any way

and nothing against you at all, but I just can't get behind those tentacles on the canoptic wraiths.

I think the blue models look striking.
I think the green models get lost on the display base.
Its really unfortunate to as the display base is really nice.

From far away it look like a green blob, but up close you can really see the detailing and light sourcing you went for an achieved well. I think the army would look a lot more crisp in all blue... however the painter in me really appreciates you've pursued 2 schemes for an army and unified them well, nice work!

Not sure I am following you, you saying the green models get lost because of the base i.e brown and flock?

well this is my 3rd time coming back to this thread... my god while eating my cheese burger this OSL looks even better hmm maybe i should grab a bong and try a 4th? My friend just got into necrons ill definatly have him check this out!
