I don't have a copy of Space Hulk, so I was wondering if someone could answer a quick question about the board for me. Is it open, like a game of Necromunda, or is it 'tiled' like you might use for an RPG? That is to say, 1" squares for regulating movement?

I am pretty sure it is tiled. I think the newest version, at least, might use bigger squares to accommodate the modern larger terminators and 'leaping' genestealers.

The newest edition has tiles that are about right for a 40mm base. The tiles are pretty well-integrated into the scenic elements.
