Well it is official!! I am building 1500 points of Carcharodon's the question however, is who do I base them off of? Grey Knights (Draigowing?) Dark Angels (Deathwing?) Wolves (Loganwing?) That is a lot of wings...

Personally as I already have a GK army both a Purifier spam and Draigowing I was thinking of just using Tyberos as Draigo and the Terminators as Paladins since I already own the army people could not really complain could they? I bet they would but this way it keep's it cheap and fun at least fun for me.. Alternatively I can do Deathwing which has always interested me but I never played. Loganwing looks fun however I always hated the Space Wolves models.

I have already ordered

15 terminators
10 assault marines FW Heresy Armor
Space Marine Bolter - Phobos Pattern
Tyberos the Red Wake
Transfer Sheet.

The benefit of using them as Counts as GK is I already have Rhino's and Storm Ravens.

Thoughts?

Well, the rules for Tyberos, the Red Wake, are for the Codex: Space Marines, and he doesn't really look like Draigo (Twin Lightning Claws verus Power Sword and Shield).

Further, why go through the effort of buying regular terminators, assault marines, and Tyberos when they don't look anything like the GK equivalents that you're talking about? At all, really. That many proxies is a lot for your opponent to have to keep track of.

So, my thoughts would be to play them as Codex Space Marines since all of their gear would be appropriate for Codex Space Marines.

Purchase the Badab War books and use the Codex: Space Marines book like it recommends.

I could see how that would be insanely confusing doing a counts as GK. So you think just plain old Space Marines not Deathwing is the way to go. Seeing as how Carcharodon's are so terminator heavy I thought Deathwing would be the most likely choice.

Thanks you for your input Kronk and Mugginns I will work with the Codex: Space Marine.

They are Terminator heavy, but they do have power armored marines, as you see in their entry in IA:10.

With a space marine codex, you could take 4 units of Terminators (using Tyberos' special rule) and either a 5-man scout squad or a tactical squad and still have a legal list that is terminator heavy.

Dark Angels could work. However, you'd still want to find a guy that Tyberus looked like, IMHO.

I appreciate the feedback. I suppose you really can not go wrong with 20 terminators and a tac squad.

I ran Carchs as Space Wolves for a while. Logan Grimnar, couple of Heavy Flamer Dreads in Drop Pods, 2 squads of Wolf Guard (WCs, CWs, CF, CML), 2 squads of Grey Hunters in Drop Pods with a WG Termi attached, Redeemer, Long Fangs. Very assault oriented force, Grey Hunters had chainsaw bayonets on their bolters or bolter+chainsword and they looked like kick-arse boarding marines.

Either go Tyberos + C:SM, or make your own Captain (Grimnar counts-as) and use C:SW. In my opinion C;SW allows you to create the more interesting and Space Shark-y force, lots of claws, chain-things and assault weapons.
