After over a year on the unemployment line I am soon to be leaving. I had a job interview today and within 2-3 hours I had the phone call and the job offer. All that stands in my way now is the occupational health visit and references. I will then be a Health Care Assistant and earning my wages. 18 months of hard searching finally paid off. Just need to share my good news.

The annoying thing is that I still haven't got any money from my latest job seekers as they are rubbish at putting through claims. Even when your offered a job, until you start you have to keep applying if you want to get your money still.

You should get a bonus, I think around £100, for finding a job after being unemployed for >6 months. Make sure to ask them about this.

I'm in the same boat. i've been off for 7 months and am about to have a baby. Looks like I'm going to be a stay at home dad for a while.
