Sorry, but Tom can't be used in scenarious outside of his lands. He's only used in scenarios on the Barrow Downs because he's powerless outside of them. Also, being unkillable would kind of break the game...

Now, I don't have the Free Peoples book, but I do have the Shadow and Flame supplement.
"Tom cannont be used in any scenario that does not take place in the Barrow-downs or in the Old Forest."
He never leaves these areas (I apologize for only saying Barrow Downs in a previous post.), because he has no power elsewhere.
Also, he's unkillable, so he wouldn't be very fun to use...

This has been taken out, as was said, but I'm really not sure why they done it.
Anyhow, I agree that the fact that he is unkillable makes him extremely unentertaining to use in a normal games but in a themed game within his homeland with other objectives than killing the opponent would make for a fun game.

I don't see why they thought it would be good to take it out either.
And yeah, he's fun for some scenarios (basically just parts of The Fellowship of the Ring), but other than that, it'd make for a very dull game.

All the new source books that they released recently are the ones which you can use at tournaments. If it says nothing about not being able to use Tom then you can use him. Books like shadow and flame are only good for scenarios these days, tournament wise there worthless :/

He is incredibly broken. He can basically go and trollolol the entire enemy army.
The only way he should be used is in a special scenerio.

I know he auto wins any combat but I`m not familiar with the rules as my rulebook hasn´t arrived yet, what does winning a combat entail? a break test like in 40k/Fantasy?

He can't be shot at. All projectiles seem to "move away" from him.
If he gets in a combat. His side auto-wins, but nobody may try to wound anybody else in the combat.
He's a boring stalemate. Only use him for special scenarios (like rescuing the hobbits from the barrow wights).

Another option for total trolling is taking Tom, Maybelle (Whatever the womans name is. Can't recall it at this moment.) and Legolis. You run Tom and Maybelle an inch apart and have Legolis auto hit anything he sees. The two "gods" keep Legolis safe from charges and when he does manage to get hurt Maybelle can restore him to full health.

Bombadil is quite amusing.
Being utterly invincible can help you take down those big and nasty things, but on the down side, from what I remember he is unarmed, making his damage virtually 0.
I think he is a nice little character, but ... I don't know ... he just doesn't really do it for me.

The mind of the Farseer is utterly inhuman in its depth and complexity. Without mercy or moral feeling, his consciousness stands upon the edge of spiritual destruction. That he does not fall must be a result of constraints and balances that only an Eldar could understand. To a mere Human it is yet another reminder that we are but children in comparison to that ancient and powerful race.
