Can they take them as of Apocalypse 2nd Edition from 2011(blue cover)? I told my buddy after a game that he couldn't, but he referenced an update that from the Space Marines and Forces of the Inquisition IA book that says that BA can take them. I am a little confused because I thought the update was for Apoc 1st edition. Any help would be appreciated.

Its my opinion that the newest publication supplants the old one (to which I believe IAA2ed says something to that effect in the begining)

No.

IA2 PDF update predates the IA Apoc 2nd Edition book, which is the current definitive ruleset for the Lucius pattern drop pod.

Blood Angels cannot take them at all.

Thank God... because that would be just plain cheap.

Is there a place where I can look to find the publication date of the PDF update?

Doesnt matter. IA Apoc 2nd ed states this supercedes other rules, and also lists itself in the summary as where you find rules.

If you are playing Apocalypse any "loyalist dreadnought" is allowed to take one as a dedicated transport, that would include Blood Angels.

If it wasn't an Apocalypse game however, only the SM, DA, BT, and SW codices can get it, and it takes up a fast attack slot, so no, the Blood Angels can't use it in this instance.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).
