That's a shame :(

I didn't realise that Rob and Gareth were Knife Party though, I'll have to check them out some time.
I remember seeing them in Nottingham in November 2010, and they were the loudest thing I'd ever heard, and completely amazing at the same time.

That's a real shame. Hold Your Colour is an amazing album, one of my favorites.

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

I do have to say though,

Knife Party's track Centipede taking a light hearted dig at Pendulum's Tarantula is sheer genius!

I don't get it, why make a new band when the majority of the members are the same

Not being at all familiar with either band (never even heard of them), perhaps it's because the styles of music are substantially different. The members of one of my favorite death metal bands are "secretly" (it's all schtick) members of a different band that's.... still death metal but incorporates a lot more old-school thrash styles in it. Or at least at one point they were the same four guys in two different bands, not so sure now, due to several line up changes. I'd assume this is the case with Knife Party and Pendulum (not the Death Metal -> Old-School Thrash/Death Metal bit, the one band plays different music than the other bit).

Gareth and Rob both started Pendulum, but clearly got fed up with the style of music the rest of the band felt they should be making. Making music became a chore, and that is never how music should be.

They messed around with Knife Party, and after seeing how successful it was, obviously decided to concentrate fully on KP seeing as they are having fun and actually enjoying music creation.

Also the music is fundamentally different, nowhere in Knife Party is there a band element, its all studio produced, no singing by rob so far, and just dj'ed out like any other set.
