So, I picked up/fell into a large block of BF russian infantry, which I viewed as the perfect excuse to start up a "blue" force for my Germans and Finns. It's always good to have a second army to use to teach people to play.

Our standard at the club is 1750, so this is what I have come up with.

HQ
Full Moto - 22 stands - SMG (I don't have RB handy, can you make the entire Company SMG or is it just one platoon?)

This would be the Russian Horde useful for slamming into things and using Q/Q to best effect

Min Moto - 8 stands

Mainly just to play defense, crawl in a fox hole and hide and hold an objective. I"m not expecting miracles here, but this guy will go in reserves when needed and the big boy will come out to play.

8 -T-34s, cupolas.

Kinda uncertain about these. No 85's so I will keep the fast tank to full effect. Scooting to flank shots, avoiding taking anything on head to head. Secondary assault unit, especially if there isn't many At weapons to go against.

3 Su-100
4 Su-100

The meat of the AT. The Russian version of a Turretless Panther. ROF 1 will hurt against smoke, but I would hope that two units of them will be more effective.

Mini Spetznaz

Again, reserve bait. On the odd chance can be used to infiltrate the large moto unit. Not married to these guys, but I have German halftracks and Russian infantry stands, seemed like the logical choice.

Limited Shturmis.

Stop gap. Not really expecting to need the AT, but it would be useful in hitting arty parks or even digging out gun teams. In a pinch can go on anti-air.

Part of the reason I went this direction is, with what I have, I just need to pick up a box of PSC T-34s and some Command Decision SU-100s. With CD's odd bagging scheme, I just need 3 "bags" of SU-100s rather than 2 bags of 122s and 2 bags of 100s with "leftovers.

Also, I went with 4 Su-100s cause i am not partial to units of 3. However, I could drop them to 3 each and use the extra points for more infantry and tankriders for the T34s. That truely would be most "cost effective".

Directions I want to go....Su-122s. Seems insanely cost effective for a breakthrough gun. Lack of Mg is troublesome since the unit itself can't pin anything. AT can be useful in the right situation. Plus the points allows me to buy up more infantry stands and more T-34s.

I'd get some artillery. If you want to use the Russians as a second army to teach new players, maybe you should get units from all areas to show how the games played. It looks like you have tanks and infantry.

Well, for "learning" purposes, I was going to let the opponent play the Germans. I can put pretty much anything together they want. Long term I would like the Russians to get to that point, but gotta start babysteps.
