Hey guys,

I usually do not venture into this part of the forum but I am in need of a little advice/help.
I am trying to reprime my black primed models, I would like to prime them silver so I can go from there for my crons. Do you guys know of any good silver primers that are reasonable and can be found at either home depot/walmart/target or easy places. Any advice is much appreciated!

if you already primed it black you dont need to prime it again, you can just go over it with a silver colored spray paint...

if your looking for a silver primer i think the Army Painter has some. they have a lot of colored primers

or you could go with a grey primer and a heavy drybrush of the new necron compound paint

If you try to prime again your gonna start losing detail, use a few very fine coats of silver spray paint to cover the model or just go to the brush...

Ah, I see. Mk well then I am going to find me some silver spray paint!

Dijnsk, I was trying to reduce the amount of painting time by spraying it silver which would skip the silver layer on everything. I presumed that spraying was faster than my bruteforce way of painting which is bad.

New necron compound..hmmm, I will look into that. But my goal was to get silver on it all, then wash with gulliman blue( did it on 15 immortals and it actually looks really cool, from my point of view of a bad painter)

Do you guys think any of these work: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/Search?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&keyword=silver%20spray%20paint&Ns=None&Ntpr=1&Ntpc=1&selectedCatgry=SEARCH+ALL
or do you think it just smarter and safer to use this: http://www.thewarstore.com/product39113.html

1.) Army Painter is your best choice. Just remember to make short bursts from close range, as Army Painter Sprays work a bit differently from Citadel Sprays (they dry faster between can and model).
2.) Most of the Home Depot Sprays are for other uses like corrosion protection of metal surfaces etc. They won't work at all. Some are flat finish, some even chrome. Better avoid before getting funny results.

Personally, I would go Home Depot, but that's what type of person I am (hardware, hands on, DIY kinda guy).

Rustoleum has, Krylon has (I have the krylon, works nicely)

If you choose to go the normal spray paint route, practice on bits first or some such, so you can narrow down a proper spray distance and speed for passes to get the best coverage without crapping on your details.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?
