Hey all, this may and probably was brought up on this forum before. I have been building a mainly Nobz Biker list. Took a short break from Warhammer 40k and now am coming back. I have been reading threw the rumors, which I do realize are just rumors but the Nobz don't seem to be as awesome now? Well or just not as competitive now. I love the models but I do like to play in tournaments.
So what I'm seeing is a FNP of 5+ now, the new codex whenever it comes out will have a 5+ Exhaust Cloud rule and due to wound allocation your almost always losing at least one model from each squad shooting at your Nobz. The only way my smaller Nob list was competitive was because I could put a wound on everybody and still have the models for Close Combat. I have read that the new 6th Edition is really going to favor more horde based Orks now, but like I said it's all just rumors. I just don't want to go drop the money on guys that arn't going to be as powerful now.

I'm looking away from my nobs and 5 wagons list now. It's just not got enough models and support. If the rumors are true and wound allocation is over then I'm gonna shelf my nobs for a while and just run normal bikes and if the rumor that hand to hand is getting even better my stormboyz are going to be a more than fun investment =)

Nice, yeah regular bikers might be the ticket for this new edition. I'm busy at work which is why I picked up Nob Bikerz to begin with. There fun to play and the model count is low. I really need to keep the model count under control. Maybe I need to be looking at a different army, a list of regular bikers that are Boyz could easily range into the thirties to fourties in numbers plus support and so on.

Yeah the orks are DEFINITELY a sink in every department. I would wait until 6th hits for sure. I've got every unit in the codex or at least SOME of them and I'm hoping I can cover enough bases to have a decent list. Don't give up on your greenskins yet. There are always meganobs with ghazzy and other things to play.

yea, i'd suggest waiting for the next edition to be sure. but bikers if the rumors are tru will be awesome which makes sense as they are very expensive models so more $ for gw
if rumors are true they will always count as T5 even for instant death from ranged weapons meaning missile launchers only put on one wound.
if the rumors are true and we haev to "patch up" allocating wounds to single wound models and takign them off others at the controlling players choice to me that jus tmeans i need to plan in a few non upgraded nobz which i'm ok with and do anyway someitmes... ork nob w/ cybork, rk nob w/ cybork and ammo runt and ork nob w/ bosspole... that'll eat up 6 wounds and even in today metta thats not bad as you get more regular attacks for them.. on bikes they will cost a good bit but hey toughness 5 is not easy to crack and you cna also put those shots on your sacrificial nobz
