So I now have all my grey knight models, ready to be painted, however I cant really decide if I should paint them grey or the traditional silver, so I will let the people of dakka decide

Also, if you have any good pictures of either scheme, please post

Cheers

I voted silver just because it's easier to do than grey, and I have no clue what your painting skill is.

If you want more of a challenge, do the grey.

Cool, thanks for the advise, I'm really just starting, so I guess I'm a beginner painter

Get a spray primer from Army Painter that'll do your minis Silver/metal, wash with Badab Black and then drybrush gold onto their filigree bits and you'll have an army done pronto

This is how i paint them... That was done in a three stage zenithal highlight. Primed grey, basecoated with a gunmetal/black mix, first highlight with gunmetal from an airbrush at a 45 degree angle, followed by another of VMA Aluminum at a similar angle. The bright light on my desk kind of washes out the effect but it looks sweet in a more natural light.

I personally do mine with a drybrush of silver starting with boltgun metal working my way up to mithril silver, being less and less heavy handed as I go. I then paint the helmet grey with a highlight of white along with the shoulder pads, the whole thing gets a blue wash with care to make sure it pops out on important bits like the arms and gaps in the armor...here's a pic I took with my phone of my castellan crowe for reference...obviously I hadn't attached the sword at this point

Edit:gah it's not showing up, I will post it later when I can get it working

Neither. Their are already too many grey/silver marines all over the tables.
Perhaps white (the new base white is supposed to be awesome) to represent purity. Or Blue for valor. I know a guy that did his in a pumpkin orange color and they don't look too bad. Purple and Gold would be very striking.
I'm doing mine in red with a samurai theme:
