Hi guys,
sorry if it's a double post, but I didn't find any kind of topic about this.
So my question is, what kind of armors/clothes an Inquisitor wear? Especially an Ordo Malleus =][=. Are there any specific circumstances that determine this, or they just simply wear as they want. (of course if i know i'm going to fight with a huge demon ofc i wear power armor )
Sigils, seal etc of course they have, but what other. I'd googled alot (and i mean .a.lot.) and they vary like two human from each other, but are there any kind of light armor for them. Like the Vindicare Assassins wear, but modified a bit.
I ask this because I want to make a little animation, and someway I'm going to portray the character from myself (that's because of my deep-rooted role-playing legacy ), and I don't like huge 2-25.m+ "humans" in half tons armour. I'd like to keep him as human as the 40k world allow it, and (that's the silliest part) want to mix my two favourite class paladins and assassins... /facepalm

They wear anything from over-glorified carapace armor, to essentially terminator power armor, however adapted for regular humans (thus smaller, but still bulky)

Depends on the Inquisitor largely. I remember in the Inquisition War the Inquisitor Draco had something similar to the type of armour Eldar guardians have. Can't remember if it had scales or not. Generally as they want to remain somewhat discrete usually, they'd disguise themselves and wear armour underneath.

Subtle Inquisitors often use energy field/s and wear "normal" clothing - on a plus side you can depict them wearing whatever you want and just say its protective due o energy fields, alien or forgotton supra tech material, etc etc. They often wear bodygloves so not that far off the clothing of Assassins

As others have said varies from Inquistor to Inquistor, I assume that they would have access to a number of differnt types given the almost limitless resources they can command.
The Inq in the newest Soul drinlers book wears terminator army where as inquistor Roth in Emerpors mercy wheres a vest of psi-reactive stones with armored plates over the top and a collaegue of his has some xeno tech armor that sounds a lot like it came from the Tau.
Inquistor Veil in one of the Gaunt books wears power armor specifically becasue she is hunting nids in a sewer.

It depends entirely on the Inquisitor, and what his personal resources are, or his manner of working.
It's most likely a combination of street clothes, flak and carapace armour, but could equally include chainmail or plate sections, or powered sections.
Of course, if he knows he's going into battle, then he'll wear the best protection he can, but not all Inquisitors would have come across an opportunity to get their hands on some power armour, which is relatively rare at the best of times.
A Malleus Inquisitor with good Mechanicus or GK ties may have a power armoured suit, but then he may well just have some magic robes inscribed with psychic wards - who knows?

Indeed, an Inquisitor's equipment depends on his own personal style as well as his influence - the latter largely being based on his experience as well as powerful contacts (including other Inquisitors such as his/her previous mentor and that one's contacts). The Inquisition is like a web, with much of its activities, including internal conflicts, determined by who-knows-who.
Also, obligatory scan of the most awesome Inquisitor ever:

I say the Inquisition has two styles which are based on the individual Inquisitor's favoured modus operandi - subtle investigation or throwing everything at the target. The former will go for the Nazi SS/Spanish Inquisition look, the latter will wear massive shiny PA.

The Kasrkin were just men. It made their actions all the more astonishing. Six white blurs, they fell upon the cultists, lasguns barking at close range. They wasted no shots. One shot, one kill. - Eisenhorn: Malleus |

Well combat armour is shown in the models, when in none combat they will either wear very massively cerimonial armour to show how awesome they are or very normal clothes so they can blend in.

As stated, it varies from Inquisitor to Inquisitor. There's no set uniform, AFAIK. In the Grey Knights by Ben Counter, there's a few Inquisitors described as wearing different articles of clothing, including a female Inquisitor who usually dresses as a fancy high class noble-woman. I plan on converting Isabella Von Carstein into a female Inquisitor.

Indeed - Amberely in the Cain novels often masquerades as a Noble Woman - but also a singer... she does say that many people expect them to be jack booted thugs or Rogue Traders and hence tries to avoid that when being subtle.
Eisenhonr seldom wears armour.....
Isabella would make a cool Inqusitor

One of the coolest things about Inquisitors is that they're so individual, and as a hobbyist, it means you can model them however you want and make them really unique.
There's a reason why I have converted models for 5+ Inquisitors and almost never actually use them in game.
