I had a metal terminator in my inherited collection, and picked up an AOBR starter-set dude, and he stands nearly a half inch taller, is much wider, and has a bigger base than my metal guy. I don't mind modest differences in scale, but this change looks quite dramatic, even to me.

I now just traded for 14 older, metal terminators, many of whom don't have arms. Since I'll need to turn to ebay or some other means to get these arms, I really would like to avoid getting overly large arms for these guys.

When did the models change, so I can ask for specific (time or kit) information about the arms when setting out to procure a bunch of 'em?

Anyone have any old SM Terminator arms they want to donate to a good cause? (Or sell...!)

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

About a decade ago when they started basing them on 40mm.
I still have a bunch of old termies on 25mm and i often get "that" look when I drop them on the table.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

Are there plastic Terminators with the smaller arms? Plastic would be idea, and is probably a bit easier to find than old oop metal arms!

Or maybe new SM arms are chunky enough to look like older Termie arms and weapons...?

There ARE plastic arms in that size, I have a box. They swivel at the waist but otherwise look like the metal ones. They only come in the standard storm bolter pf or sword set up of a base terminator squad later tonight I can post a picture if ai haven't hacked them up yet.

Yes, there were smaller plastic terminators. Between the metal originals for original Space Hulk/RT40k and 2nd edition metals (Deathwing, CSM and SW) and the "current" versions.

The 2nd edition spacehulk terminators were plastic - and the default box for terminators until they were redone for 4th ed in the multipart/multipose variants. Sure, you could pose the arms a little differently, and the torso rotated, but that was it for posing (heads were integral to the front of the torso armour).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
