Hello,
Just to preface; I've been flitting between armies buying box sets I like and painting them up for the past six years or so and have finally, funds allowing, decided to get organised and get a 2500 point empire list going. I can't say I've ever looked towards Warhammer from a gaming aspect before so any advice and tips are widely appreciated. I've tried to do a bit of reading prior to getting a list together and getting some critique. I appreciate I'm not at my point target, I've left 125 points free for people to suggest fillers, my first jump was a Helblaster Volley Gun or one of the wagons to fill the gap.

Another point to note is that I already own some of the models on the list; Steam Tank, 40 Halberdiers, 3 Demigryphs, 20 Handgunners, Hero/Lord choices and a few other assorted bits and bobs on top of that. I'm personally willing to drop/adopt as would be appropriate as most I'll paint for pleasure regardless.

Thanks for any advice.

Seems pretty solid to me. 2 decent anvils, a few hammers and a good number of buffs. Nothing that needs drastic changes, IMO.

Have you considered the Hurricanum though? I've tried it a few times and it was GREAT. Not sure if worth the points, but that, along with many Warrior Priests and Lore of Light buffs, helped my State Troops stand up to Chaos Warriors with ease. Worth looking into.

The correct question is, would I be enjoying this hobby if I did this?

The correct audience is you.

I like it....except the Reiksguard...for 2 more points a model, you are getting stubborn. Now thats spending 18 points for stubborn, change them to inner circle that is more core, and you now have say 15 more points for magical items...with the general riding with them and the hold the line ability, you really don't *need* stubborn. Also, I would recommend lore of life or shadow instead of light, as life regrows your troops (which are squishy) and shadow is just gross.

What is the General of the Empire functionally getting you that an Arch-Lector, similarly equipped, would give you instead? And don't say Hold the Line, I'll be disappointed in you.
