Yodle folks, just some information, i have recently (As of Thursday) got my hands on some FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE forgeworld models, and honestly there in a lil bit of a rough state,

1) A very cute but albiet poorly glued Cyclops
&
2) a broken albeit fixable (and honestly poorly cast to the point my even dad looked at it in horror) Destroyer Tank hunter which honestly within its self and boundaries is a pretty cool looking weapon of war.

1) I need some advice on dissolving from what i can tell is nothing but plain super glue so i can readjust the tracks on this little cutie so it doesn't look like its been out of a bender with the local orks (and a conformation of the rules for this would be IA6-8?).

2) This is going to be a problem, since it is actually free i wont look a gift horse in the mouth, but the fact is the resin isn't straight, the top section is 2.3 mm wider at the front and 1.2 mm wider at the back than the front section, its missing half a hatch on the top (which i believe is in the box, its not a biggie to replace anyway), and more depressingly is that the cannon on this beauty is snapped off, it is a clean snap meaning i can manually position it back onto the break to form a nearly invisible seal, but since im unfamiliar with FW resin and the fact the snap is smooth, i need some advice on reattaching it. (Also a quick location on the rules for this model would be desirable)

any other advice you could give for fixing these problems that i might of missed would be helpful.

Various safe-to-use paint strippers (DO NOT USE ACETONE OR TOLUENE on resin, they WILL damage it - Acetone is the best thing for removing superglue from metals, but will damage the resin as it is an industrial solvent and Toluene is worse.) will soften superglue or weaken it without harming the resin.

Freezing can also weaken superglue bonds. Depending on the amount used, you might need to freeze/thaw several times.
(put it in a ziploc bag in the freezer).

I'm pretty sure that the rules for the Destroyer Tank Hunter are in IA1 (hopefully FW will post the 6ed updates soon?).

Also, acetone dissolves super glue well, without damaging most types of plastics. (not sure about FW resin though... might want to test on extra/inconspicuous piece first) Most nail polish removers work well for this, and this website (http://www.supergluecorp.com/removingsuperglue.html) has some good tips.

Good luck!

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

The rarefied atmosphere

IA1 has destroyer tank hunter rules. at bs3 mine always bloody misses.

I don't quite understand the issue with the destroyer, is it too wide in one area and too narrow in another? Typical forgeworld casting. Is the destroyer fully assembled and just in bad shape or is it that resin is just so poorly cast it looks to be a difficult build?

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
