At only 2 points it seems like a reasonable upgrade, but in all honesty I can't see it ever being used. Rarely will you get charged with switftstride movement 8 so stand and shoot is out the window, not to mention almost all SnS attacks will be at -2 to hit, and with a 6 inch range you will almost always be in charge range long before throwing range and charging with centigors since they have spears is really your best bet almost every time.

NO!!!

The first question is why are you taking centigors in the first place?

They are more expensive than Empire knights with a far worse save, a random benefit, and no lances. I just can't justify them in my army.

They are fun, and yes I know they suck. Aside from Gors, Razorgors, and Bray Shaman the beastmen dex would be considered pretty subpar compared to other armies. It was the last 7th ed dex, and regardless of what GW says it was not 8th ready. I really like the look of the army so I do what I can, and I like to mix and match units for fun. I've played a ghorgon in my last 4 games, a model that should probably cost 50 points less and it would still be of questionable value.

I would give them no upgrades, and still leave them on the shelf. They do not compare point for point to Harpies or Razorgor's. And it would be unfair to try and compare them to Minos and Bestigor's.

Yeah. I can't think of a single reason to take Centigor's other then I feel like it. They can be -decent- with Ghorros. But I'd rather run my Lvl 2 and lvl 4 and BSB as my heroes.

I've sold so many armies. :(

Doesn't Ghorros get added to the unit's cost? Which would mean his points come from your Core allocation, not Heros/Lords?

I believe you are correct. It is not made clear, but if we extrapolate (yes, I know) from the ruling that mounts come from the section where they are purchased (lord/hero), then it's obvious.

Yes if you take Ghorros they all become troops including him, he is not a lord or hero, just a an upgrade to the Gorehoof. However he is stupid expensive for a two wound model. It seems his special ability the mansmasher causing D3 wounds may make him ideal for character hunting against RAF its a waste, not to mention he has one worse save than the rest the centigors making his 2 wounds very fragile.

Another question is do you make them great weapons at only I2 they aren't losing much but at the same time they are cav with spears meaning they already kind of have a bonus 1 str to begin with.

Didn't think that the -1 SnS penalty stacked with -1 long range ...

.... but you're right reading BRB page 17

Except they have a 1 in 3 chance of being I4.

TGF I would like to recommend this site. There you should be able to find more answers for your questions than here on Dakka mainly because that is a website dedicated to Beastmen. Give it a try.
