Given that foot guard are about to get a boost, I could do with picking up some cheap imperial guard, but not GW since they're expensive.
Ebay is pretty unreliable, though I use it when I can. There are some good offers occassionaly, but there's also naff all a lot of the time.
I checked out Mantic Corporation, they seemed pretty "meh" to me though. They just look pretty weird, remind me of the old Catachan models actually in terms of being wrongly proportioned.
So anywhere else I should look at?

I wouldn't say that foot IG are going to get a boost just yet. We have rumours but we don't know how much is concrete until the books hit the shelves.

Mantic is probably a bad idea for Guardsmen, as they produce smaller scale miniatures.

Have you had a look at some of the Pig Iron militia? They're not really that much cheaper but they're something different.

Otherwise, try some independant stockists which offer discounts for GW Guardsmen or search engines.

Hope this is useful.

Mantic models are specifically meant to sub in for GW models; they're roughly the same size, or at least supposed to be. That said, their prices aren't much lower than GW's at all, and if you can go to a typical discount retailer online you can get IG for cheaper than Mantic's Corporation models. Defiance Games makes some cool new UAMC Marines that can be used for Guard if you want, and they're fairly cheap. The Pig Iron models are awesome, but more expensive than GW and all metal.

Try the great coat troopers from Wargames Factory, I just bought 60 of them for around 100.00 AUD and they fit almost perfectly with all my excess cadian arms etc. I can't recommend them more highly for the money. I also bought a bunch of Pig Iron heads so they will look like the guys in Suckerpunch!

Try wargames factory shock troopers. You get 18 for $20, and IIRC there is like an 80 pack for less than a dollar a model around somewhere, maybe some company sells them on ebay.

Oh my God I must thank everyone who mentioned wargames factory.

Was at an Apocalypse game yesterday and an IG player brought in some sweet looking models which I thought were DKOK. He shown me one and said they were storm/shock troopers and he didn't know the name of the company, but couldn't find them online as I desperately need some guardsmen which look like DKOK, which you guys have shown me. Thank you all

Edit: Hmm looking at them now they still look cool but may get some for renegades as allies for my chaos instead

The Shock Troops are a good value for the price. Here's some of mine, some Tech Guard that hang around one of my AdMech characters. I used some bolter arms from the Marine Scout box that I had in the bits box.

If you are looking for some other alternatives, Urban Mammoth has a sci-fi range that has some nice things in it, although still on the pricey side. I think they have some US distribution, maybe FRP games?

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

$30 for 25, but they're definitely a better bargain than GW for standard footguard, but I'm not a fan of their lack of a flamer (my personal favorite special weapon for platoons) and the GL is kinda "Meh" to me since in the game it isn't actually an underslung weapon. You could even do something like buy a box or two of Cadians and use the flamer/nade launcher on Defiance Minis and that way you'll have a noticable difference between grunts and vets.
