I have encountered a few instances where I reply to a post, and when I get send back to the page after replying it ends up looking like my reply is posted twice. Two separate entries, with avatar and signature, both saying the exact same thing. So it looks like a double post.

My first suspicion was that it was not a true double post, since it happened in regular parts of the forum and it should have auto-appended the double-post to itself. I would switch between a couple of pages, and even though both posts continue to show up for a minute or so the second post does disappear after a short while.

I suspect that I am not the only person that this happens to. I have seen a few entries where there was a single post that was edited to read "Edit: double post" or something like that although there is no duplicate post to be seen.

I will try to catch a screen shot next time it happens, maybe even try to see if I can snap the code for the page as well.

It has something to do with caches and refreshing, etc.

I think. I know I've had it happen a few times, and I just let it alone for about two minutes and then it goes to normal.

Is that really it? It seems to be happening a lot on the 6th ed rumors page. Just happened to me in fact.

I have seen a lot more "double post" posts with no partner during the last week.

It is a known glitch that is a total pain to try and track down the source. It is related to aggressive caching and race conditions and does sort itself out fairly quickly as you've seen. Annoying though!
