Hey gang, finished up this very nice Drop Pod I got for a steal off of Craigslist new on sprue. C&C Welcome.

Nice! How long did it take? Airbrush work?

If you felt like taking some time to make it even sexier. yellow checks on the black cutouts on the wings.

Took about 5 hours to paint once assembled. Assembling these sucks, it still needs magnets. Its almost entirely airbrushed save the use of oil pens and brush for small detailing and chipping.

I was considering doing the hazard stripes. I haven't ruled it out yet I just don't know how much more time i really want to throw at a piece that will probably end up either being sold or given as a gift. I am considering doing a tan fade on the bottom with black dashes to make it look more weathered as though it just burned in through the atmosphere. Maybe even a hot metal kinda look. Still thinking about it

It looks great. Yellow hazard stripes or checks would really pop and give it great contrast, but I understand what you mean if you're not keeping it. The doors & floor do give some good contrast too.

I built one of these for a friend a few months ago and all I can say is never ever again! Absolute pain to build without a 3rd arm growing out of your chest!

Hey, the work is good, but i will have to point somethings that I would have done different:

- black wash the interior, or else, just made the silver coat a lot more thin, with black basecoat. Right now, it looks to bland and unaturall.
- I would have used adesive tape in the wings, to make the black part totally black, and the red part totally red, whithout the blend. That blend create a nice effect in "smoking" places, like exausts, but not in that case.

Those are my cents. (I dont wanto to be harsh, just to point how i think you could make it better).

It looks nice and clean...which to me is wrong for something that gets dropped from orbit and smashes into the ground. I'm not saying I don't think you've done a good job, just way less weathering than I would have done. Also it looks like there is plenty of room for some big BA decals or something on the exterior. Just ideas really...
