Could ork squigs be feral and act like a wolf pack?
Would they also be able to be mastered by the orks and used as a pack to attack the enemies fast without them biting the hand that feed them. (The orks)

I was wondering this because of the new allies and having a squig pack instead of Karanak's daemon hounds.
Then I pose the question are squigs resistent to psychic powers and weapons?

Anyway thanks

Yes, Squigs are always feral.

Yes, Squigs are are an Orkoid sub-species and are often herded into battle.

I think your idea of "counts as" model is fine. With all the stupid ally combos out there I highly doubt people will have a problem with a squad of squigs running around.

I like this idea myself, as I play Orks and always thought it was strange that the only squigs in 40k are just "counters" and "markers".

Yes, there is endless precedent for that in the fluff, especially the old fluff. The term "squig" covers a huge variety of non-ork orkish creatures. They are used for food, milk, as mounts, entertainment, and beasts of burden. They can be two legged, four legged, flying, and any number of other forms. They used to be huge in fluff, but have gradually decreased in prominence in 40k due to, well, GUNS. And vehicles. But the fluff is still there. So are the models. Originally the entire point of Runtherds was raising and controlling squigs.

Warhammer Fantasy has units just as you have described:
Spoiler:

They can also act as mounts:

And let's not forget the giant squig and the squiggoth from forgeworld:

Squigs are one of my favorite aspects of orks. They are known to mutate magnificently to fit the needs of the environment and their handlers. They are insanely breedable and mutable. It would be entirely fluffy to have an almost all squig army controlled by their Ork masters. Go nuts with them.

I would think there are wild squigs on planets and might live in packs. I see them more like herd animals. I know there are wild ones in fantasy. Cerntanly in fantasy they are mastered by orks and used in packs and even ridden into battle, so i wouldn't think they would bite. Squigs with chaos i think would go well, i could see them more with a nurgle army.

Oh they do bite. The thing is Orks bite back. Like most orkoides they are nasty. The Goblin squig riders just about manage to point the squig in the right direction and hold on, hence why they also use wolf and spider mounts.

There are as many diffrent squigs as uses. That count as sounds like a good idea, infact I might steal it myself.

On a side note I found out the other day, squig is short for squiggly beasts. Personaly i rather like squigs and wish you could use more of them in 40k

Let's not foret one of the Orks favorite games: face bitin!

An ork gets a "face biter" squig. They both try and bite each other while other orks place bets. The one who still has a face afterwards is the winner.

But I was wondering if they'd be reliable without a herder, he just points and they go.

Anyway, sounds like a green light

Again, there is infinite room for variety with anything ork related. You could have psychic squigs that impress upon Orks a la Pern Dragons. You could have orks that lived with squigs until they were accepted into their tribe a la Dian Fossey and the gorillas. Or a mad Ork Boss that was raised by squigs and thinks they are his Boyz (I like this idea, actually). A boss obsessed with training his squigs like sheep dogs. A boss that addicted his squigs to drugs he gives them after battle, so they always end the fight as soon as possible. A boss who got hit in the head and developed a wierdboy like 'knack' for commanding squigs.

You can do almost anything with orks. Have fun with it.

Will do, but the whole raised by squigs thing sounds rather like the jungle book.

You could even use them as grots
Only problem us, what gun would they have?
Could be an acid spitting mutation or some spikes that they shoot from their backs?

Squis could be trained to not eat an orks hand, but orks are too lazy for that, they use snotlings and grots to deal with squigs
Funny thing is, squigs like them more than orks (not in the nom nom nom tasty sense)
