I'm having trouble with a laptop ATM. I don't know what is wrong (for I am not tech savvy) but according to the error reports etc, there is something wrong with the hard drive.
I told others and they have told to go into safe mode, so I went into Safe Mode and am presently in Windows Device Manager. I had a look through all the devices and only 3 of the ones a could check safe mode weren't working.

1. Other Devices -> Base System Device. It says the drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
It says I can reinstall them, but the needed driver software is not presently on the computer.
2. Same as Above.
3. Non-Plug and Play Drivers -> Security Processor Loader Driver. It says this device is not present, is not working properly or does not have all of its drivers installed. (code 24)
I can check for solutions, however when I click on the button, I checks for them, but nothing happens.

If it helps, My computer is a Dell Inspiron 1525, with ACPI x86-based PC, an Intel Pentium Dual CPU 12330 @ 1.60GHz.

Whats wrong?

You know this is a perfectly legitimate troubleshooting step...right?

OP: what's wrong is that the Inspiron 1525 has a notoriously faulty motherboard, which appears to have dumped it's chipset drivers or the card reader drivers. you can find them on the Dell website under chipset drivers. That should solve the first two. If one remains it's probably the card reader driver; that's on Dell.com too. Good Luck.

You see, to Auston, everyone is a Death Star; there's only one way you can take it and that's through a small gap at the back.

I would actually say that your first problem is that it's a Dell.... secondly, you should do what Auston said, and try to get the driver re-installed on there.. if that don't work, the drop test is one that's always fun.
