Well, I haven't painted orks in a while, but I'm rather pleased with the results.

Is that little vehicle a scratchbuild? It looks fantastic - really orky! I like your rust effects too, though I reckon it could do with a little paint chipping - maybe sponge weathering with a metallic colour? The 'face' on the front of it is brill

Well spotted, it's mostly stompa bitz, the shell is actually the shoulder pad that I didn't use, the turret being the one to sit upon that shoulder pad.

Not really a reference, my paint scheme got some influence from going through Ork painting guides in old copies of White Dwarf, one of which had a Warboss painted with blue fingernails. I decided to do so to, trying to show that they're a different biological material to bone & teeth.

Except that's old fluff, they're not diffirent biologically to the orks they lead.

Nope, I've done all of the orks' nails blue, not to biologically separate classes, but to show how the nails are a different material to bone & teeth. Those on the boy just appear a little darker.

Nails use keratin, so does hair.
Just because it uses the smae thing doesn't mean it has to be the same colour.

Same the other way, just because they're made of something different doesn't mean that it's got to be different colours.

I get what you're saying, I have another ork army where the nails are painted in a similar way to bone. I just thought that since I'd seen it in a tutorial it might be fun to try for my next ork army.
