I want to make melta veterans for my imperial guard army. They showed me a site were I can order 5 meltaguns, now my question is how to combine them with imperial guard so I can have melta vets? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you're talkign about the metal meltas offerd by GW it will be slightly difficult to adhear them to guardsmen since they're ment for marines, its doable though.

If using cadians:
Cut off the entire lasgun AND hand at the wrist. Trim the leftover stock bit back a bit also.

Pin meltagun (hand and all) to wrist. This is for maximum strength in the bond.

The hand is a little large (works better on catachans) and the gun is still stupidly big (ALL 40k weapons suffer from this, though) but it does work.

If you can't pin, find someone who can teach you.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Honestly it's a lot easier to either find a bits site and get 3 of the Company Command Squad melta arm sets, or find some third-party conversion bits that look like meltas. I have had experience with the GW metal meltaguns and they honestly suck a lot. They tip your model out of balance, they are a bitch to glue/pin and they are really freaking huge for Guardsmen. Take your money elsewhere.

It would be cheaper, faster, and look better just to buy something like this: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Imperial_Guard/Cadian_Shock_Troops/CADIAN-HOSTILE-ENVIRONMENT-TROOPS-MELTA-SQUAD.html

You end up getting baller looking Cadians, pay less than you would for 3 melta gun bitz arms, and don't have to worry about attaching them and messing around with a hobby knife.

This statement is 99% false. They do take some serious filing to get them to mate properly with the guardsman, but it's not even a little challenging, just time consuming. The guns fit the two handed plastic Cadian model just fine (just remove the rifle frome the left arm and replace it with the meltagun). It is not oversized, it's actually a tad smaller then the one in the command kit. It's not heavy enough to throw the model of balance, and with super glue they mount just fine.

If you don't want to go with the forgeworld option this will work just fine as long as you take the time to file it to fit.
