One thing I noticed, other than sectorials, there's not much "theme" going on with Infinity. I'm not really sure why. Is it harder to do? I'm not one to worry about winning at all so I don't mind making an army that has a good theme but doesn't' win so much. How do you guys think and what are your themes if you have any.

There are themes.

There are all-camo or all-parachuting Ariadna armies.

There are your typical TAG-and-support armies.

Even though Aleph doesn't have a sectorial yet, many people have run the Greek Sectorial equivalent taking only Myrmidons, Sophotects, Achilles, and Patroclus.

I'm seen heavy Kum biker armies.

--

It's just that the sectorials push the theme to such a rules-friendly level that people are running fluffy lists.
Also, the SWC mechanic ensures that HMG/ML/Spitfire spam isn't unrealistically done.

For my Haqqislam, I'm only using masked models =)
So they look really awesome but the lack of cheerleaders makes list-making quite hard at low points =P

Sometimes with my Ariadna, I like to play a ragtag group of outlaws ? =)

But is it really a theme to have all camo?

I don't know with that .5 SWC Metro HMG!

One of the armies I am building is a Mercs force of murlocks, yuan yuan, and irmahdinos. What do they come to battle with? Help if i know....

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

I kind of want to do this, too.

My P&M blog - in which I chronicle the transformation of a battered windfall of models into an awesome addition to my Blood Angels force (hopefully) - can be found here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/431820.page.

My Nomads will have a all furry force someday, sadly the Murlocks are mutants not animals or I could already. I do have a Lizard based Bakunin force with just Mods (cops) and Murlock (robbers).

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

Hmm. More a fluff idea than theme, but I like attempts to translate stuff into Infinity. There are a number of "Section 9 in Infinity" threads in the CB forums that are pretty slick, and I'm designing my WIP NeoTerran army around Mass Effect's Cerberus (still looking for a good model to function as my Deva Lt. / Hacker aka Miranda Lawson). PanO's anonymous, soulless helmets in particular seem perfect (Nomads are pretty close too) to capturing that Cerberus look.

For me, the sectorial armies are "themed" enough.

I am working with a mate on theming his USAriadna force.
They have US Air force infantry (minutemen - that symbol is off the USAF symbol) and USArmy (Rangers). Yet there are NO naval or Marine forces at all. For a colony project.

I figure he could use Irmandinhos as SEALs, and the kazak/vet kazaks as USCM/Force Recon troops.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Morlocks are not mutants. They are criminals that have been put into almost a penal troop. Some of them it looks like could have been a part of the fighting groups the Chimera infiltrate and/or they go through extreme body modifications for combat. So they could go with your furry group easily.

I've looked into doing a USAriadna as well. It can be done with a bit of imagination. I was thinking Para Commandos (US Airborne), Metros with inferior infiltration/Camo (Army Rangers), Fox Trot, and Minutemen. All let by Van Zant.

I don't have a particularly strong theme with my Yu Jing but it is at least in part based around a theme of a chinese spec ops/strike team force. So no JSA units.

Sorry when I said mutant I was comparing to Marvel's Morlocks, who they look like and strike me as the visual inspiration, if not the reason for metachemistry.
