Hey everyone, maybe I'm missing it but I can't for the life of me find any guides on mounting the flyer stands.

Just supergluing it to the oval doesn't seem very structurally sturdy but is that all there is to it? Any better suggestions?

I trace the outline of the flyer stem then cut it from the oval base using a dremel. Thread the oval base over the flyer stem and push it through until flat.

Superglue works fine for me, then again, I don't use GW's crappy superglue...

I first used tile grout to create a rubble look . I then superglued the clear stand to the base and used more grout around the flying stem to secure it in place. This has worked great and I have had no issues with it. I have found that when the grout hardens, the base is also heavier providing more stability. I play BA and have stormravens, which are actually heavier than I anticipated.

Edit: I used Galeforce 9 superglue and not that crappy GW stuff.

You could drill holes in the base/stand to insert a length of a paper clip in then glue it (I use two part 5 minute epoxy).

Be warned though that I've seen super glue vapours make a cloud like mark on clear plastic. (if that happens sand with really fine sand paper until it's gone, buff it with a even finer sand paper then put a gloss coat over it)

I just used super glue, worked great.
Again, not crappy GW superglue, which holds about as well as spit.

I sanded the base of the acrylic piece flat (after removing the nub) with an 800 grit paper (it's a finishing paper I had left over from some carpentry) and used polycement to bond the upright to the base.

It set solid. No issues at all. Holds my Valkyrie in position and it doesn't even wobble.

Superglue fuming is often a side effect of TOO MUCH glue. If you have a good mating area, a small amount does the trick.

The other way to polish out superglue fuming is to use silver polish.
It's what case-modding computer geeks have used for years to polish out scratches on their clear plexi panels.
