Hello

Me and my wife are moving to Charlotte from Vegas, wanted to know what the good game stores are for some 40k, and if there are any gaming clubs as well.

Hey, I've got a friend who is living down there right now!

I'll talk to him tonight and see if I can get him to PM you.

I know there's a tournament at one of the stores down there at the end of this month too.

Hobby Chest in Jacksonville North Carolina is worth the drive. Get in contact with Mr. Dan (the owner) and see when the best day to show for a game is.

I have not played there in years, but it is a military town and as such there are lots of new players coming/going.

I lived in the NC charlotte area for a while, I considered it to be a GW void. Like southern VA and south carolina. Only people that seem to play in those places were a few military.

Having lived in charlotte, most game stores in the area focus on Magic the Gathering (booming community right now) and the wargaming community is very small.

Of the places I can remember, I know Games HQ does offer 40k and I think PBKW a bit to the north has gamespace. Hobbytown USA has a bit of gamespace as well, but I wouldn't recommend it (lots of kids go there)

It maybe a bit of a drive, but you could come down to Columbia. Look up Heroes and Dragons. Great 40k group plays on Saturdays.

Cadians Gate Gaming Club in Easley, SC. Small club looking to expand but almost always can find a game. Only about 1 1/2 hour drive from Charlotte.

For what it's worth there is a GW in Raleigh and they are building one in Winston. But most clubs i've seen in the area are small (running at about 8 or so players).

I will be at Gamer's HQ this Wednesday for quite a while - I will have Warmahordes and Dust Warfare stuff with me if anyone wants to play. Never been, so if any Dakka folks are around, that would be stellar.
