Finally I have completed my first squad and I am pretty pleased with the results. I have left them unvarnished as this is my first ever squad and whilst I learn new techniques I can go back to them and make improvements.

I'd really appreciate your comments and if you could also rate them I'd appreciate it.

I've not been watering my paints down yet as I can't get the coverage I want or it just runs off etc so I need to do this on future models, any other hints/tips would be gratefully received.

I would like to thank Sanguinus's Successor, and Daedricbob for help I'll be putting those techniques into practice soon.

Bit blurry but he looks better in the squad picture.

This dude looks pretty cool, definitely looks like he wants to put his fist to work.

My first use of a glaze.

My very very first model so I like him what ever the outcome.

The very first squad completed, and now onto Angels Sanguine

Look forward to your reviews.

Really nice models with some really crisp details
I'd be really proud of these

The only constructive criticism I can offer is to paint the rim of your bases a light brown colour
Having the black makes them look slightly unfinished

But overall really good work

They look pretty good, specially for your first models. You should be proud of yourself, they look quit good!

It's good you acknowledge that you need to thin your paints. Your complaint about how you've already done it is that you don't get the coverage you want; that's okay. You often won't get 100% coverage with thinned paints. Multiple thin layers is way better than one thick layer slogged on the model. Use a palette (there a white plastic ones readily available from craft stores, you can also use a porcelain tile) and get an eye dropper from the drug store. Use it to put both water and paint on the palette. There are also tutorials out there for making your own we palette which you can use to extend the working time of your paints. Good luck!
