Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

Logic suggests a prince becomes the king, ergo, Daemon Prince -> Daemon King. Is there any evidence of such a creature existing, or will it just continue being my personal theory?
Cheers guys.

Personal theory. There are no lines of succession in the Realms of Chaos. Not all Daemon Princes are created equally, and there are some Daemons, unaligned with any specific Ruinous Powers, who put all Daemon Princes to shame.
Daemons, also, are immortal. There's no Daemon Throne for a Daemon King to pass off to his "son" when he dies, as he will never, ever die.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised. |

Prince is not necessarily a title subordinate to king. Prince generally means "ruler."

This. Moreover, "daemon king" sounds a bit pantomime.

Daemon Princes are Mortals who ascend to ranks of Daemonhood.
I assumed Prince was given as a title because they are not seen to be on the level of Greater Daemons but are still above the lesser daemonic rabble.
The Only 'Kings' in the warp are the Four.

The Daemon Kings are the Chaos Gods really, while there are certain Daemon Princes who are mightier than others (for instance, I imagine Doombreed is quite a bit more powerful accomplished then Dhar'leth), the Daemon hierarchy is more or less Chaos Gods > Greater Daemons/Daemon Princes > Lesser Daemons > Daemonic Beasts/Steeds

A daemon who claimed to be a king would likely just get immolated by the gods for its insubordination.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it. |
