HEAVY SUPPORT -----------------------------------------------------------------------
Predator: (120pts) Role: Vehicles, nasty deamons and big bugs
Standard autocannon turret
Lascannon sponsons
TOTAL = 2500pts
but now that 6th is here I decided to mess about with it. Taking advantage of the new Allies and FOC over 2000pts for some fun.
C&C welcome to solidify it, I realise not everything is known about the new rules yet.
List 1
Looking good. I would replace Captain with Vulkan for all the free twin-linked and master crafted Thunder hammer. I will also get two priests to make sternguard (and any nearby tactical squads) much harder to kill.

Don't have my codex with me, but you should take Vulkan as Leo wrote and give the sternguard 2 combi meltas and 3 combi meltas. They work best for me. They take out anything they want to with those tl meltas
Black Templars are the best Space Marine Chapter out of all the Space Marines. They are the most fanatical marines out there. They are on an endless, eternal crusade for the god emperor. AND they get in the face of the enemy. Thats the way to get things done.
Well, I'm wanting to do a custom-captain conversion to fit my DIY's theme (scythe as relic blade etc). Would I be fine doing that and just saying it uses Vulkan's rules? (not played in a long, long time).
By priests do you mean the sanguinary ones from the BA codex? I'd have to take those as allied elites, which according the FOC I couldn't do (as that would be 3 allied elites).
As for the combi-melta's, I was thinking about 3 of those and the heavy flamers; do you think the melta are still the better choice for the new ruleset then?
Maybe 1 heavy flamer, since the new flamer rule is pretty cool, but still keep those meltas, sternguard are scary with them and having vulkans rules.
You could do a do a model who counts as vulkan. So have the captain and use Vulkans wargear and rules. Captain will be a count-as.
Hope that helps!
Automatically Appended Next Post: They should also be given a drop pod. To get a real punch at close range with the meltas and flamer.

You have to have a Second Vanilla Marines HQ if you are going to use the second FOC for the Vanilla Marines.
So, in total, with the Blood Angels detachment, you need to have 3 HQ choices.

@Flood: Your list is already valid. I would switch DropPod to Rhino though. That way your BA drop pod will definitely drop on turn 1 giving you the ability to capture midfield.
Another option is to drop the Drop Pod (see what I did there? ), and take jump packs on DC. Will suck up ~150 points but give them all 1 extra hammer of wratch attack. And they can still Deep Strike should you wish.
150 is a lot to trim though, not sure where I'd take it from. My first thought was exactly that when I added the DC, but it makes them very expensive.
Which pod is it you are referring to in that first line?
Sternguard's pod. They have a handful of men. Even with Vulkan, that's still a lot of points potentially wasted.
You can drop 35 points by switching termies to TH/SS (and get master crafted rules for free with Vulkan). You can also drop RiflemanDread down to MM Dread (to get twin-linking of Vulkan). Then you can drop 1 extra body in dev squad. That plus the almost 50 points you have extra should buy you those jump packs.
