Mordrak 200pts
4 Ghost Knights w/Halberds 160pts

Librarian w/ Warding Staff, Might of Titan, Quicksilver, Shouding, Sanctuary, Warp Rift 210pts

5x Strike Squad w/ Deamon Hammer,Psycannon an Razorback with psybolts 170pts

5x Strike Squad w/ Deamon Hammer,Psycannon an Razorback with psybolts 170pts

Dreadknight w/ H Incinerator, Greatsword, an Personal Teleporter 260pts

Allies

Logan Grimnar 275pts

Runepriest in Terminator Armour w/ Living Lightning, Storm Caller 120pts

10x Grey Hunter squad w/ Mark of the Wulfen 2x Melta Guns in a Rhino 205pts

Long Fang Squad w/ 4x Lascannons, 1x Multimelta in a Drop Pod 235pts

Idea here is pretty straight forward Drop in Mordrak the Ghost Knights and the Librarian in with First to the Fray an then the Drop pod full of Long Fangs with Logan an the Rune Priest an have the Dreadknight shunt in with them. Having a Dreadknighht, a fairly strong terminator squad and then a heavy weapons squad with relentless appear in the middle of your lines is gonna ruin anyones day. After they kill as much as they can the Librarian pops off shrouding and the Rune Priest pops off Storm caller hello 4+ cover for the whole mess, if needs be he can cast Sanctuary to stall an opponents assault. I am taking the troops only because I have to.

Yes I know I am playing Grey Knights and Space Wolves together. Shoot me now. Then notice that I do not have any Purifiers an only one Long Fang squad in this list.

IC should be ok from what everyone has been saying? Dont have 6th yet, just everyone who has done a 'I have book, ask away' stated IC are ok.

I must be missing something. How do you have so many models in one Drop Pod?

Rune Priest + Logan + 6 long fangs = 10 (that's all one drop pod can carry).

Plus, you won't be able to teleport dreadknight in because that power is used at the start of the turn.

The wording is "cannot be joined by Independant characters", I believe that is for joining an allied IC to the primary detachment units. It does not say anything about no named characters. If you couldn't take an allied IC then the allied detachment wouldn't have an HQ.

Very true thats why the Grey Hunters have a Rhino Transportm just reread my initial post, Mordrak can deep strike first turn with his unit an the Librarian. Drop the Pod first thing and then Drop Mordrak in within 6 of that. An the Dreadknight should be able to use its 30" shunt to get to them once they drop.

This might be a silly question. But why do you have long fangs in a drop pod? The point of drop pods is to get in enemys deployment zone with either a suicide shooty unit or a close combat nightmare unit. The last time i checked Long Fangs were neither they are best suited as a long range shoot things to hell before they become a problem unit. Just my 2 cents.

I think the OP wants to use Logan The High King special rule to make LF relentless and thus causing maximum amount of damage forcing enemy units to get into closecombat. This allows Mordrak to charge on his turn and basically finish the game in one huge close combat.

From the look of it, I sure hope you win the roll off to go second because otherwise, you will be severely out of position as your opponent take you down with long range fire power from the otherside of the board.

So then why give them lascannons why not all multi-meltas that'de make more sense. And one more thing I'm not sure as i wont get my copy of the new book till tommorow but I think you cant take named Hq choices for allies

I have the book and there is nothing stating you cant have Special Characters or ICs ...

If they are battle brothers then ICs can join allied Units.
(You cant embark on transports of allies though.)

So your chaos army can take for instance Fate Weaver. He can even join your chaos units .... if you want him to.

I wonder if 2 IC can join eachothers squads ... thats something to look into.

Note you cant have more then 1 of each Special Character. Not that i can think of any 2 codexs that share Special Characters.

Yeah, looking at the allies rules there's nothing preventing people from taking special characters.

Well this isn't a tourney list by any stretch but I tried this in Apoc only I had three Grand Masters with Psycannons and Warding Staves drop in with Mordrak it worked pretty well.

If I lose the roll an go 2nd I do my best to hide the DK an the transports waiting for the drop. My opponent will prolly either line his armour against his table edge to prevent me getting rear armour shots, or he may throw a lot of his army in reserve. If he throws it in reserve I race the transports across the board while jumping the DK as far as he can get. Drop Logan an his squad near some nice high terrain in my opponents deployment zone an Mordrak near by an destroy his army piecemeal as it comes on.

I have to do a lot of damage early due to my low model count but I think it can work. I can also make the DK scoring to get a 4th scoring unit.

Trust me I would if I could but most of my Long Fangs are kitted out with Missile Launchers an I only have the one Multi Melta trooper, this kinda drop shouldn't be done regularly but being able to deep strike Mordrak in along with Logans drop pod makes it so much more doable.

My honest opinion is your trying to do to much. If I was you I would stick to one or the other army and not worry about allies, especially since your going to mind wipe them anyways lol.

LOL trying to do to much?

Step 1. Drop in 1st turn
Step 2. Punch em in the face

I would say thats pretty simple. I won't run this army often because whether it works or not the game will pretty much be over by turn 3.

Well its an interesting list. If everything goes your way you are going to rape face.

Now what you are going to do against Nids or a sea of green Ork army I have no clue whatsoever but against Marines of any variety it should work just fine.

Hence the reason its not going to be a list I run in a tourney lol. Although you do see marines more often than not, but yea a nice horde army would pretty much eat me alive. Guess I could go with plasma cannons instead of lascannons they would be better at wittling down large units.
