Looking over the new rules for PE and challenges does the Dlord look like a a much better option then before as a force manipulator and overall beatstick?
Also does adding a tac arrow to him seem like a good idea given the +2 and the reroll to hit?

the +2 armour pen is same as before, use to be 4,5,6 to destroy and its still a 4,5,6.
But reroll to hit does sound good

Since it's looking like nearly anybody in the game can now take a destroyer lord as an allied detachment--as long as you also throw in a unit of 5 warriors or whatever--he is looking pretty good.
My Tau army could definitely use one for the greater good.

I've been a big fan of his for the last 7 months, and 6th edition definitely gave him some love. 2+ Armor save, PE that he can give to Wraiths/Triarch Praetorians/Flayed Ones, hell whoever he decides needs it most. Pair that with a res orb and you have a very mobile squad multiplier that you can hop around to where ever is need most.

Mixing up things could screw the game, increasing the frustration level over normal. I'm not a fan of allies.
