Recently I saw a picture of Marines painted purple , they used the dark angel robed models to represent assault marines , purple armor and black robes...has nyoe seen this?

Bar the Soul Drinkers they are the only purple armoured chapter I know of.

About 10 yeras ago, When I was a teen working in a local 3rd party retailer store.
One of the guys i worked with had a massive collection of marines (close to a whole battle company)
Painted up in a bright vibrant purple. They looked stunning on the table to be honest. I couldn't say what shades of paint he used though, sorry. This was a decade ago!

Codex Marine Chapter, which has like maybe 2 models in the Spess Mahreen model pages I believe called Hawk lords, dark purple colors. I've been looking for a good purple to paint my marines as well, so give me a heads up if you find a good combination.

Yep, Hawk Lords are purple SM.

One of my best friends has a purple "soul drinkers" army, that he runs using the blood angels codex.
They look pretty good...he was recently at wargames con with them, perhaps you saw those?
