On July 7th (next Saturday) 2012, the LA battle bunker in westminster is throwing a 3000 point tournament using 5th edition rules called the "last man standing" tournament.

Rules:

-Free to enter

-Make a legal list of 3k points from a legal codex.

-Single elimination so once you lose you are out, ties are settled between a 1v1 fight between the two army's HQ choices.

-Last one standing at the end of the day is the winnar.

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

#1. 3000 point games take about 2.5+ hours to play.

#2. If they have 16 people show up that is at least 4 rounds, and with 16+ people that is 5 rounds.

Blackmoor has a good point, the Last Man Standing format sounds very fun, though IMHO it works best at the 1000-1500 points level.

Well, it's run by the GW store and that is how they wanted it. I guess if you can't play anymore rounds then you drop out. It looks fun for those that don't mind playing enough rounds to see who is the last one standing =).

The thing is this: if you lose a model, that model is eliminated and cannot be used for the remainder of the tourney afaik. So if you win with only one model on the board left, you only have that one model next round.

So the first round is gonna take forever and subsequent rounds will take less and less time.
