hey guys, i made a thread about the BA, but i need tips on making tyranids have that creepy organic look, without looking like skeletons

Wherever and whenever they appear they leave only destruction in their wake; they are the Lords of Death, Bringers of War. The Dark Angels.

Oh, you think the darkness is your ally, but you merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see the light until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding!- Helen Keller

thanks, i was thinling of colors. My experiacne at painting is more on the lines of armour and trim form my warmachine menoth days. I can't paint flesh worth a damn and i can''t paint organic matter the way i need to i need to give tyranids a certan creepiness almost like aliens that slick look no one likes to look at.

Here's a guide I found in the articles section which I think is right up your alley.

Should give you a nice slimy organic look. (Note that for the spinning part you can just use some thin rod in a variable speed drill)

thanks, i like the aliens slimy look that aliens have. I was thinking a midnight blue with black brushed in then a gloss to make it look real sleek.

If you don't want to dip the models you can still brush the varnish on, the same principle still applies in that you are using a tinted clear coat that will darken recessed areas thus making details stand out.

If no varnish period, you can get some GW wash/shade paint (same thing, different names) and apply it over your entire model then put on a gloss coat.

You might want to look up some tutorials on slime and dripping fluids aswell some slime dripping off parts of the nids could really make the effect you're going for pop. The drool from the alien creature when it opens its mouth is kinda the effect im thinking of here.

Maybe a brownish carapace like the kissing bug would do
