That's not possible with an allied attachment, as you'll still only get one, not to mention three of those would be flying, while the CSM havn't yet figured out how to soar to the skies yet.

I think he is talking about the double force org thing at 2000. Sounds impressive until you see the other guy with 12 units of purifiers with 100 psycannons and 6 psyriflemen.

Do Chaos Daemons with CSM detachment.

You still get 3 Daemon Princes, a Bloodthirster, a Fateweaver, another Daemon Prince, and whatever else you can toss in there for the point costs (a dread, a defiler, a unit of Nurgle bikers at T6....)

There are a million new combos. Demons will undoubtedly be the most popular ally, but imagine what you can do with guard and an iron warriors theme? Yes, this edition is going to cause me to spend lots of money.

@cannedkhorne-did you start stalking my list ideas that I posted last night? Lol. Cuz that's pretty much identical to what I had been saying. Don't forget the cheap nurglings as troops to make room for more big gribblies.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I am thinking Chaos Deamons are the better parent army, CSM atm are not that great unless you plan to shoot vs assualt. Chaos deamons can be very nasty, but it seems like GW did this on purpose to double the force organization chart. The reason why I say this, is becasue it is extreme expensive to have 6 heavy support (Normally the nasty units for all armys), and you find yourself with so much offence its crazy. Almost like whoever goes first wins for shooting army mainly. 18 oblterators shooting turn one, or 30 longsfangs.... omg, people who spam these types of untis I think are going to get owned because more than half there army is 6 deamon princes for example, sounds guess but can die very qucikly vs the opponents 18 obliterators....

A potential problem with Daemonic Allies IMHO is that it fits with a previous rumour of Daemons not being in the next CSM 'dex and if many tournaments do indeed ban allies, as some suggested may happen...

I disagree. I reckon Necrons will be, on account of their own strength as a Codex and conferring Night Fight.
That said, if Daemons work under the CSM summoning rules, then they will be VERY powerful and very popular.

I hope the next Chaos Codex retains Demon Princes as a HQ, so I can take them as allies with minimal non-demon forces. Don't want some Please don't use terms like this on Dakka, even in jest. Thanks. Reds8n wrecking my gak.

What do you mean, have CSM the parent list and deamons the ally, what would be the major issue if it were vica-versa

Well the Chaos Marines have icons and such to prevent deep-strike scatter.

Allow Codex: Chaos Daemons units to be summoned as if Lesser/Greater Daemons; i.e. No scatter, can assault.
I've just seen the FAQ and thankfully this isn't the case however.

I'm pretty sure icons in Chaos Marine Codex are cheaper than in Chaos Deamons. So could take a squad of Thousand Suns (or whoever) and deepstrike your army around them. Would be pretty sweet, and very fluffy. More so if you destroy the leader of the squad as the demons deep strike

NO! no no no no no no no

Why do people keep thinking allies will just be a giant free for all?

1. All the dexes were FAQ'd so the powers and such do not cross over. If you have chaos daemons codex daemons, they follow all the same rules they always have!!!!
2. Even the brethren allies can only take so much! You still have to fill your own force org chart, THEN fill an HQ and a Troop before you get anything else!

Sheesh, quit guessing and get the rule book/

You don't have to "fill" your own FOC beyond the obligatory 1 HQ and 2 troops.

And apparently Flying Monstrous Creatures can count as Swooping as they arrive from Reserve, so Deepstrike all those FMCs and your opponent will need 6s to Hit them from the start.

That should increase their survivability.

Good lord, I didn't think of Iron Warriors with IG. That sounds like fun.
