Hi folks,
Here's my updated list following feedback, for an all-comers 1500pt army:
Hive Tyrant
- Lash Whip & Bonesword
- Twin-Linked Devourers with Brain Leach Worms
- Old Adversary
- Hive Commander
- Toxin Sacks
- Wings
- Leach Essence (or BRB power)
- Paroxysm (or BRB power)
Gargoyle Brood (20)
Gargoyles fly with Tyrand to get advantage of Old Aversary, and to support Flyrant. Hive Commander ability to give option of outflanking Tervigon
-----------
Tyranid Prime
- Lash Whip and Bonesword
- Deathspitter
- Toxin Sacs
Tyranid Warrior Brood (3)
- Barbed Strangler (1)
- Deathspitters (2)
- Rending Claws (3)
- Toxin Sacks (3)
Tyranid Prime leads warriors to provide insta-kill survivability. Used to provide extra Synapse to gaunts, or to tank objective. Also allows the Tervigon to outflank if situation calls for it. Finally, he'll be the Warlord since (1) he'll be with most of the army, and (2) it allows me to send the Flyant off to eat face without worrying about giving away the innevetable VP
Termigant Brood (12)
- Devourers (12)
Termigant Brood (12)
- Devourers (12)
Tervigon
- Toxin Sacks
- Adrenal Glands
- Catalyst (Or psychic power from BRB)
Lots o' shots! Screened by either spawned termigants or Ripper swarms. If against a massive assault army, Flyrant can hang back and project Old Adversary on them
-----------
Hive Guard Brood (2)
Zanthrope Brood (3)
- Mycetic Spore
- Cluster Spines
Maxed squad of Zanthropes for very flexible options based on the opponent - either sticking with default powers, or using any from BRB - including Telekenises if against Mass air units...
Ripper Swarm (5)
- Tunnel Swarm
Screening unit. Either in front of the Termigants, or outflanking/deepstriking to support anything that needs it (e.g. protecting Zanthropes from assault)
As ever, feedback appreciated!
(List no. 1)
Let me know your thoughts - there may be mission objectives/other rules which would really hamper this list that I'm not aware of, so keen to hear what you've got to say!

IMO
I'd take the HT as a "new psyker" rather than with LE & Parox, I wouldn't take LW & Bonesword and I definately wouldn't take regeneration which is a massive waste of points on a winged rant.
Elites may be ok if the meta goes where many people think it might
Shrikes get ID by str 8... they still kinda suck, expensive upgrades are even worse :p. dunno about gargoyles, think they'll mostly be ok.
Ripper swarms really suck, ID and blast templates reduce them to dust really fast

Ripper Swarms still suffer from Mindless, so you'll not want them to be outside of synapse range (in which case they won't have Rage). They are a bit better as a tarpit now though, and I plan on actually using some to see how it works. There really is no point giving them tunnel swarm though, they'll just die in droves from Mindless.
I think the best way to make Warrior-level 'Nids work is target saturation. If your opponent has to decide between a bunch of big, scary monsters for his S8+ weapons, he's more likely to ignore your Warriors until they're too close. 2D6" charging helps out too, but I've found 3 MCs to be the butter zone for saturation at 1500. Dropping one of the ripper swarms, tunnel swarm, and the Doom would give you a Mawloc or another Tervigon. I'm also going to play around with Biomancy on my Tervigons... looks like some nasty combinations to be had there.

My only thought, is while you can make more termagaunts, your number of scoring troop choices is a bit limited for 1500.

The Custodes Winter Watch 4000 pts

Guys, thanks very much for the feedback - went back and overhauled the armylist; added more flexability, scoring units and synapse...
