These abilities in 5th ed were kind of odd, but in 6th have they changed?

The last paragraph of pg 36 (under deep strike) says the following: In that turn's shooting phase, these units can fire (or run) as normal, and obviously count as having moved...

Emphasis on that turn's mine. If necrons deepstrike in their opponent's movement phase, can they fire in their opponent's shooting phase?!

I have a feeling my assumptions are wrong and that I've missed something, but I'm hoping I'm right!!

"...fire (or run) AS NORMAL, ..."

You can't normally fire or run in the opponent's turn, so deep striking during their turn isn't going to give you permission to do so.

You can't normally deep strike during the opponent's turn either, but these special rules allow for that, so...

Yes, these special rules give you specific permission to deep strike in your opponents turn. They don't give you specific permission to shoot or run and the deep strike rules clarify that you are allowed to do those as normal, which for your opponents turn is not at all.

Sorry for the bump, but the Necron Tactica over at Warseer got me a little confused so I thought I'd ask you guys here.

The first page has this to say about Phased Reinforcements . . .

Phased Reinforcement allows your entire reserve to show up the moment one of theirs arrive - given how fliers must arrive from reserve, if the enemy includes even one flyer in their list, all of your reserve (which could well be your entire flyer-based army) arrives for free the moment that shows up.

At first I thought "oh sweet, now I need to take the Nemesor if I'm going to build that list with a ton of Scythe's in it like I was thinking of!" but the Phased Reinforcement rule states that it allows units to Deep Strike when an enemy unit does. Deep Striking isn't the same thing as a unit entering from reserves, is it? I mean, I never thought it was so I'd think that his special ability wouldn't apply to allowing flyers to enter play.

Except it doesn't say that, it says that you can deepstrike any number of your units that are able to deepstrike whenever any enemy unit enters from reserves.

And Necron Flyers can Deep Strike, so there's nothing wrong with using Zhandrek's ability with them.

except if you're relying on this for a null deployment list you'd better hope your opponent has a drop pod - or you lose on game turn one.

Oh hell they can! Since it wasn't FAQ'd away I have to assume that's still good. I reed rools gud <.<

Welp, I guess Nemesor is really tempting then! I guess Scythes Deep Striking just . . . Deep Strike as normal and then proceed to Zoom?

I am also aware of the auto-lose scenario for having no units on the board, I'm building my list with that in mind ^_^
