Hello everyone,

I've lurked on the website quite some time, but I thought it was time to register so I can actually contribute and post something.
My name is Stef (Imrail) and I'm 21 years old, I live together with my girlfriend who likes to paint, but doesn't like playing.

I've started with the hobby in 2001, when I was 11 years old.
I started with Lord of the rings and I collected quite a few armies,
some have been sold and traded, but I still have my first big army,
the warriors of Minas-Tirith.

Since 2008 there where less LOTR players and the local gaming store was closed,
so there was no chance to play a game.
Some time after that a hobby club was opened, and people started playing games there,
alas no LOTR but a lot of WH fantasy and 40K.

Now I had to make a choice, what did I want to play?
I really liked the empire, so I collected a couple of miniatures, painted some but now they are lying in a drawer gathering dust.
WH fantasy looked fun, but never played a game.
I played a small game of 40K from AOBR and I liked it.

The next problem was, which army should I collect.
Space Marines where the obvious choice, especially if I bought the AOBR box set.
But before I bought the Empire miniatures I also bought a box of cadians, which I really enjoyed painting.

Now a couple of years later I have gathered a complete infantry platoon and I'm busy with my second platoon.
I really liked the idea of a full infantry army, but I have never played a game with the IG, so I can't decide what to buy for support.
I do have 2 valkyries and a chimera, soon a basilisk will join the ranks and we shall see.

My IG army does have a theme, an urban combat force, with as few as possible futuristic weapons and support that fits the role of urban combat.
I ordered the new rulebook and I shall see how easy or hard the rules are.

In the meantime I collected a small army of Blood Angels which I am expanding, but it doesn't have priority.

Anyway this forum looked really nice, and it was important that I has a active and nice community.
So I hope to show you people some of my miniatures as soon as possible.

Welcome to the Dakka Dakka community! If I might make a suggestion, take some Blood Angel Assault Squads as allies with your IG since IG are usually weak in HtH. At some point I want to take some IG with my Blood Angels although I'm not sure what as of yet. Anyway, good gaming!
