So I have a few questions here. I understand the point is DAs can't shoot until 2 turns later, but RAW is pretty jacked on this with the new Overwatch rule.
Overwatch: "An Overwatch attack is resolved like a normal shooting attack..."
Bladestorm: "...may chooce to add one to the number of shots they each fire with their shuriken weapons that turn. If they do so they may not fire in the subsequent shooting phase..."
1. Can bladestorm be used with Overwatch? (I personally think it's a yes.)
2. Here's how the event plays out... DAs bladestorm, enemies turn, they get charged this NOT during the subsequent shooting phase and therefor can shoot, to top it all off, there's nothing saying that they can't Bladestorm again! I completely understand how much cheese this has, but this is how I read it. Logically you can't Overwatch, but RAW says otherwise and it's not in the FAQ.

Agree with both your conclusions. Stupid stuff like that happens when rules change.
Also note that using blade storm on overwatch will still prevent you from shooting next turn, even if you didn't use blade storm during their previous shooting phase.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

It would be:
1) get a Charge declared
2) Bladestorm on Overwatch
3) either break the Charge, break the unit in assault or some other outcome allowing the Dire's to not be in combat in their shooting phase.
4) not be able to shoot in their shooting phase because it is their Subsequent shooting phase from when they bladestormed.
The real question is if they can overwatch after bladestorming(as Overwatch is not in a Shooting phase of any sort).

I want to build off this thread. I know what I am proposing is cheesy but is it viable for the rules.
With my DA can I choose to bladestorm during my turn, decided not to charge. Then also bladestorm during the enemys assualt phase as an overwatch? I know that during the following shooting phase I wouldn't be able to shoot. The rules for bladestorm say during my next shooting phase. And I believe overwatch isn't an impromptu shooting phase.

Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about. This seems totally legit, and it looks like everyone's agreeing.

After all, Dire Avengers are supposed to be the undisputed masters of Eldar close-range shooting.
