Anyone know where to get one? Battlefront, Peter Pig and Skytrex don't seem to make one. I'm considering converting one but I don't trust my skill at bending paper clips

Although many used the frame not all did. Certainly the frame was far less common on D variants.

They used the aerial with the three rods on the Fu8 set, and you can get those in brass etch if you wanna go the whole hog.
