Subject: The Fire Axe in 6th Edition.

Phoenix Lord Fuegan has the Fire Axe which makes him attack like a Monstrous Creature (2D6+Str for armour pen, ignore armour saves). How would this relate to 6th edition?
I can see a couple of ways:
1: His attacks ignore armour save and get 2D6 for armour penetration or
2: He gains the Smash special rule and Hammer of Wrath special rule.
Thoughts?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I don't think either one really works right anymore. You might have to discuss it with your opponent first before it gets explicitly FAQ'd into one or the other (or some amalgamation of both).

That is a very good question. A literal reading of the rules text for Fuegan indicates it is allowed to attack as a monsterous creature. Given monstrous creatures now do not now automatically ignore armor saves nor have +1d6 to vehicle armor penetration any more, i'd say giving him the special attack rules of a monstrous creature while using the fire-axe is reasonable.
I'd expect it'll be FAQ-ed as a more normal profile along the lines of an (+1 Strength, AP-2, Armor-Bane) power weapon eventually though.

Although it is close combat based, I left out Fear, because that would just be silly.
Sergeant Joe: "Lets get 'im lads."
Bob: "But Sarge, he has a big axe, and well, I've just soiled myself from the size of it."
Sergeant Joe: "Good point, RUN AWAY!!!"

Currently, he can use it to gain a Smash attack. So half his attacks but at double strength and AP2.
Did you check the FAQ for any changes?
