Hey everyone,

This weekend marked the 3rd birthday celebration of my local GW as well as the beginning of the awesome 6th edition of 40k *throws confetti*. As such, the local GW store owner threw a large celebratory bash including a HUGE armies on parade showcase (2nd largest in the world I think? Or maybe just in North America but still). It was AWESOME to see so many amazing armies etc and have mine included among them.

Below are a few of the pics of my army (and a few of my friends in the background etc.)Keep in mind that I was not in it to win it, because I am just not that type of player/painter. I was just proud to see my army on display for all to come and see

I would post more pics of the other entries but frankly there are too many, and I do not know if their owners would appreciate it, so for now, just mine.

I'd love to hear your opinions on the army etc.

I apologize for any blurriness in the photos as I was using my HD iphone and it tends to focus on a micro scale and blurs a lot of peripheral things in the shot. I also had to take them somewhat hastily as people were circulating to see and judge them etc.

My prized stompa haha. You can see the WIP and finished with more photos by following the link in my sig

My favorite deff dread.

The Big Mek responsible for all these mechanical monstrosities. He also has a kustom gasoline nozzle flamer hehe

The looted wagon isn't my greatest model, but it's way too wacky not to include haha.

Thanks for any comments!

Awesome love the bright colors!

We are winged salvation, but we are a terrible, final salvation, and our wings embrace the horizon with fire. We are the Blood Angels. To confront us is to die, and death is my remit, my reality, my unbounded domain. I have known death, and defeated it, claimed it as my own. To my cost, to my strength, death is my one gift to bestow, and I am nothing if not generous.

Darian really shouldn't have won. The Dark Eldar and Ork armies in the back were the best painted by far. But he had shiny forgeworld, and rule of cool beat out painting technique.

These orks of yours are quite nice though! I loved the use pf 1/8" jacks on the looted wagon and the paint on the Stompa is quite nice.

HAHA hello fellow Portola Plaza attendee! I don't think that he DIDN'T deserve to win as his painting was pretty much flawless and let's be real, his army was really freakin' cool. BUT I thought that the Ork army in the mushroom forest was MUCH more creative and painted with a lot more character and personality. It may not have been as 'cool' but it had a lot more originality. I voted for the Ork army haha (I do have a soft spot for em after all).

I talked with Darian a bit and he definitely put a TON of effort and technique into his painting and modeling. I'm not sur ehow the woman who painted the Orks did it, but if that was brush work, it was perfect. Darian used an airbrush mostly which looks fantastic, but kinda seems like a quick and easy way to make things look awesome haha. Not that it's unfair or anything, but I feel that a truer talented painter is one who uses a brush. Either way, I wasn't there to win it, I was there to display my boyz and be a proud pappa haha.
