Bear with me. I'm new to 40k, I'm new to Tau, I'm new to Orks, and we are all new to 6E. If I say something horrible stupid please point it out, because I'm sure that I will. Any way me plan is something that is painfully simple. Have the Ork Boyz rush in for CC while the Fire Warrior troops, broadsides, and suits jump around providing some cover fire and picking off enemies from a distance. My biggest question is whats the best way to get the Boyz into assault, and the best way to run them through footslogging. I'm okay with them just being meat shields and sucking up a lot of fire power, but I'd rather them not get mopped up at the same time. Alright, here goes.

Like I said I have no idea how the Orks are going to work best. I tried reading through and finding information about KFF but I don't know how to best implement it? If anyone has any suggestions please tell me! Or if you think this is all wrong please point out what you'd change?
Thanks!

You can only have two troop choice for Allies.
Allies of Convenience or Desperate Allies can't share special powers.
I'd suggest some Power Klaw nobs, or something similar

I would suggest changing the TA to Blacksun filters or flamers on your deathrains.
I have never used the Sunforge layout, so can't comment on how good it is.
You need some devilfish for firewarrior protection, there are alot objectives in 6.ed.
And if you go that way, you only need 6 firewarriors in a devilfish.

Okay, so I can change the Boyz to two troops of 30. Check.
Can anyone throw any advice at me for whats the best way to get them footslogging up? Should I be grabbing Kustom Force Field? And if so how's the best way to go about that?

Up your tau and take out garzghkull (as much as I hate to say it) a warboss is just fine. Or, take out a boyz troop and add some meganobs. Thraka let's them become troops choices. They are slow and purposeful so they won't get in cc turn one, but you get decent saves. Have them shield your boyz. Take Shoota boyz, not slugga. Then, your moving up at the pace of slow and purposeful (bad) shooting all the way (good) and once the orks get to whats left of the enemy, BAM! They eat 'em up in one turn. This may not work vs really, really shooty armies, but mechanized armies and armies that are mostly cc will be moving towards you anyway, so you don't have to go that fast

Any Warboss lets Meganobz become Troop choices. And Meganobz would be able to soak up a lot of firepower, including the stuff that would otherwise be aimed at your suits.
Also, Meganobz now don't have as many disadvantages from Slow n' Purposeful, so footslogging them isn't as big an issue.
If your goal is to just soak fire and still be able to hit pretty hard, maybe look at one large blob of boyz, one mob of Meganobz, and a Warboss.
However, a KFF Mek would really be incredible, because the KFF affect everything within 6", not just allies, not just Orks (granted, this includes Enemies, but that's what markerlights are for).

You have a HWMT but only one weapon (that's TL). Skip the MT. I haven't played a lot of games myself, but a quick change might be to split up the two groups of 12 to four groups of 6 fw for the sake of capturing more objectives. They won't be able to take as many hits before taking morale checks, but I think the orks are the meatshield and it will split up your opponents attention more. I also wonder (depending on the race of your opponent) if you might want a few PR in place of so many MP. Someone with more experience and/or more mathhammer literate want to comment on this?
