Quick question here, from the FAQs, seems that when daemons are allied they enter just as they do on their own codex, however when allying them with CSM (battle brothers), can the daemons use the CSM chaos icons to avoid scattering?

Note that Icons only work for models in TDA, Oblits and Lesser Daemons...

Chaos daemons doesn't look like a good option for allies it seems... you don't get any benefit from battle brothers really. Can't use CSM icons, your ICs can't join daemon units, theirs can't join yours, they don't have psy powers at all. Maybe i'll regret buying those bloodcrushers yesterday

Getting FMC as allies isn't a terrible deal imho.

Yeah, i was referring more like no real benefits from battle brothers, the next level of alliance would get the same benefits.

Don't CSM get psychic powers that can be used to augment chaos daemon allies? You couldn't do that if they were Allies of Convenience

Where does it say that Daemons cannot join Chaos Space Marines? The only thing I read in the FAQ was that allied IC's cannot join units from the daemon's codex.

Yes, sadly there are no powers that affect friendly unit on the codex and not sure about the ones on the BRB, from the quick scheme I did over the 3 options chaos marines get didn't see any that would really boost another unit, however i hope there is one or two that may work. So pretty much nop.

Edit: Warlord benefits would apply thou, that's probably the only benefit, that and looking F#"% awesome having your marines side to side with juggernauts.

On the CD FAQ under Daemon Rivalry, "IC in the list cannot join units of daemons belonging to a different Chaos God, unit of furies of Chaos or ANY allied units. Equally, allied IC may never join units chosen from CD."
